The focus of the repairs is to enhance the condition and safety of community roads, while also applying finishing touches to the recently resurfaced highways.

Roads play a vital role in connecting neighborhoods and facilitating the movement of residents and visitors alike.

The Minister of Works reported that substantial progress has been made on the resurfacing of highways leading east and south.

These critical transportation routes have undergone extensive repairs, ensuring smoother journeys for commuters.

A noteworthy achievement recognized during the Cabinet meeting was the successful rehabilitation of two highly traveled roadways, namely the Fort James Road and the Fryes Beach Road.

The Minister received a round of applause for the remarkable improvements made to these important thoroughfares. Motorists and pedestrians alike will now benefit from enhanced safety and improved driving conditions on these roads.

  1. Independence Avenue from Government House to Robinson’s Service Station and All Saints Road from V.C. Bird bust to Dockyard Drive are in a dilapidated condition and in need of seriously urgent resurfacing.
All Saints Rd is the busiest roadway in Antigua serving the majority of the island’s population and has been neglected. The current method of road repairs is appalling, patching a patch which was covering a previous patch. This is leading drivers to be swerving all over the roadway attempting to avoid the potholes and humps and is very dangerous.
Public Works road repair division should be privatized, we’re not getting value for $$$$$$$$ spent.
The citizens are appealing to the Honourable Prime Minister and to the Minister of Works to prioritize these roadways. We have a tourism dependent economy.
Independence Avenue and roadways in St John’s city should be in pristine, first class condition as it shows who we are as a Nation.

  2. Round of applause my ass, 9 years on and the roads are the worst they have ever been. You people make me sick.

  3. Yes repair the road so all the drink drivers can go faster. Better also shine up a few more ambulances, you will need them.
