Committal Hearing For Simone Whyte’s Alleged Killer Adjourned Again

August 5 is the new date when murder accused Shawn ‘Soca Slide’ Mussington, charged with murdering his reported ex-partner, will appear in the St John’s Magistrates’ Court.

Mussington was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison last November after he was charged with murdering Simone Whyte just a day prior.

The defendant made his first court appearance in November 2020, after being charged with murdering the mother-of-three a day prior and the date for his next hearing was set for February.

But when he appeared that month, it was again adjourned to the next month since only new matters were being heard by the court.

Now the committal has been delayed once more because, according to the prosecution, the Director of Public Prosecutions requested to see the forensic report before proceeding.

That report has to be obtained from Jamaica where the evidence was analysed.

It will now be another two months before Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh can declare if there is enough evidence against Mussington to send the matter to the High Court.

It is believed that Mussington killed 45-year old hairdresser Whyte in St John’s on 14th November, 2020.

The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm at a store located at the junction of Market and Tanner streets.

The Jamaican woman, who worked at a nearby hair salon, was apparently socialising in the area when the assailant attacked her with a sharp object.

She reportedly died about two hours after being stabbed by the accused, her ex-lover.

After the incident, the accused reportedly fled the scene, and the police launched a manhunt to capture him.

Whyte was said to have moved to Antigua just over four years ago and is the mother of four children who reside in Jamaica.

  1. These weaklings out here posing as men need to learn how to handle rejection. They are way too EMOTIONAL and MENTALLY, EGOTISTICALLY unstable to be on the loose like this.

Plenty fish in the sea. Learn to move on and know when the chapter is finished. 99% of these weaklings CAN DISH IT, BUT CAN’T TAKE IT.

    • 99%? Definitely not in Antigua, perhaps 1% can dish but can’t take, wives/girlfriends walking in on their men with another man, men walking in on their woman with other women engaged in ménage a trois, let’s not forget the orgies, sex parties and prostitution. Antigua, it’s a sexperience, don’t get in a relationship here if you can’t control your emotions because sharing is caring.

      • May God have mercy on us all with our evil mentality as described by you that shairng is caring.
