CDC adds Antigua to COVID warning list

he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) added four countries Monday to its list of high-risk travel destinations for COVID-19. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP.

The countries are Antigua and Barbuda, Lesotho, South Africa, and Taiwan.

Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center released figures Tuesday announcing 65,833 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, 65,794 of which had been spread domestically.

Two omicron subvariants have propelled infections in South Africa, moving case numbers there from 300 per day early last month to 8,000 per day last week. However, symptoms are mild and severe cases and deaths have not increased, The Associated Press reported on Saturday.

Lesotho, a country located inside the larger country of South Africa, has experienced a similar wave.

The CDC maintains a list of countries sorted into four levels of COVID-19 severity: Low, Moderate, High and Special Circumstances/Do Not Travel. It also includes a designation for “COVID-19 Unknown,” which it currently applies to 52 countries.

The COVID-19 High category, which the four new countries were added to this week, is the largest of the groups, containing 110 countries altogether.

There are currently no countries on the Special Circumstances/Do Not Travel list.

The announcement of the additions to the list of High risk countries came the same day the CDC reported that the U.S. has reached 1 million deaths from the virus.

The COVID-19 death count continues to rise in the U.S., which has seen more deaths per capita than neighboring Canada or countries in Western Europe, although the rate of fatalities has fallen significantly as vaccines, a new treatment pill from Pfizer known as Paxlovid and recent variants have reduced the risks of the virus.

Since 2021, deaths resulting from COVID-19 have occurred disproportionately among those who have not gotten initial vaccine doses or booster shots. CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATSAPP GROUP.

  1. Please do not start handing out these dangerous shots again. The data which Pfizer submitted to the FDA clearly states a suppression of the immune system within the first 7 days. Guess what happens you give a large number of people immunosuppressant drugs?

    • Can you give us a reference cause Pfizer just got approved to do boosters in children? The you say the shots are dangerous but not only world leaders, but MA AS WELL have had all 4 shots and I feel fantastic, I had ZERO side effects even when exposed to the virus.   6. Speaking of the late Customs Officer,Nigel Christian. He was gun down in cold blood.His Mother said,there were 4 men that took him from her home.However,why are there only 3 men in Custody since that time.What has happen to the fourth man? Did he vanish into the thin Antigua air? Did he swim out into the Atlantic Ocean and never to be seen again? Where the hell is that 4th Person? Time for that person to be arrested and be charged as the other three in Custody.

  8. Cool ruler I am in agreement. I did write about it a while back. Now we need to go back to mask mandate and hand sanitizing . Mandates immediately. No one wearing mask anymore. We still have some time yet before school holidays. So that is another daily super spreader.
    Well after carnival we done. Heard the minister of health on the news talking about the abuse of alcohol and marijuana during carnival. It’s it the government in control social well-being. So you give them Licence for LOL and breakfast fete and blue jeans and white fete with unlimited alcohol. You introduce our young people to freedom of growing and smoking marijuana. It consist of addictive substance , so the more you smoke the more you want. We are loosing our young men in particular from the abuse of marijuana. You freed it up without putting anything in place to educate them of the dangers.
