Antiguan wellness advocate and maritime professional Captain Kevinia Francis has been nominated for the Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Award 2025 in the category of Wellness Innovator.
Francis, widely known as Island Girl, said she was “incredibly honoured” to be recognised and described the nomination as a validation of her personal and professional journey.

“Someone saw value in my journey – and for that, I’m grateful,” she said in a statement shared on social media. “This nomination is a reminder that every step counts.”
The Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards celebrate Caribbean women across the region and diaspora who are making significant strides in their respective fields. This year’s theme is “Embrace the Power, Live the Dream.”
Francis joins a diverse group of women leaders from Antigua and Barbuda, the US Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Barbados, Saint Lucia, Anguilla, and Trinidad and Tobago.
“Across the Caribbean and diaspora, women are leading with power, passion, and purpose,” she said. “I’m proud to stand among this unstoppable tribe.”
