Beaches To Close On Whit Monday Says Cabinet

(CABINET NOTES)

The beaches will NOT be open for use on Monday, June 1, 2020, Whit Monday.

The Cabinet is aware that many people would likely gather at the beach, disregard the social-distancing rules, and throw caution to the wind; the harm to the population is too great to permit large gatherings at this time.

The Covid-19 threat is still very real, the doctors reminded.

  1. There are 365 beaches on Antigua. So why closed them on Whit Monday. There is no Covid 19 in Antigua, according to Gaston Browne.I listened to a recording of him saying so.He goes on the radio station and run the country’s business from there.

  2. You choose to open the island to foreigners, from a country with the most COVID cases in the world (US), yet on the same day you open the country, you close down the beaches.

    Well done

  3. Are we going to hand out the rules and regulations to visitors and tourist when they arrive?

Will tourist be allowed to gather on the beaches while locals can only have 2 family member?
