Antigua and Barbuda’s Daniel Antonio emerged victorious at the Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid, Spain, securing an arm wrestling title on Saturday.

Competing in the over 100kg beginner category, Antonio clinched first place and impressively landed 5th place against world champions in the seniors over 100kg division.

Expressing satisfaction with his performance, Antonio shared his optimism for a bright future in the sport and his goal to facilitate opportunities for fellow Antiguans to compete abroad.

This marked Antonio’s third international competition since he began arm wrestling three years ago.

The event in Spain, like his previous one in Dubai, was sponsored by Cool and Smooth, with additional support from Automotive Art and Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, Gaston Browne.

Antonio will soon promote the sport in the United States before returning home on November 17.

    • To the bitter asshole in disguise, because hes light skin and his last name is Antonio, he’s considered a Spanish man? The young man is a Dual citizenship holder (born in the US AND Antiguan by descent), living here since a few months old. Hatred is the sincerest form of flattery I tell you. You haters never cease to amaze me….

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Humble, kind, mannersable young man. Interacted with him multiple times at ASW All Saints West Marketplace put on by Dr. Michael Browne

  2. Although born in the USA to an Antiguan father, he was raised here in Antigua and I’d an Antiguan by descent. He has no Spanish roots.

    • Bonnie you do well to waste your time answering nonsense. CONGRATULATIONS to Daniel Antonio. He represented Antigua and Barbuda sooo well.

  3. Congratulations on your win. Hope your win brings attention to Antigua and Barbuda, and for politicians to see they should facilitate, accommodate and support people like you and myself who wants to and is doing great things that will benefit the country.

Do not accept then saying they can not help you and your endeavor, especially when it is of national importance and substantial merit.

Keep working hard and remember those who support you and those who do not when they can and should.
