CABINET NOTES: A twelve-member team from the Ministry of Finance, the Inland Revenue Department and the Accountant General’s Office, provided a monthly report to Cabinet about collections and expenditure. 

The Customs collections were up by over 9 million dollars in the same period of the year prior.

Inland Revenue was up by 13 million dollars; import duty increased by 2million dollars; while the Revenue Recovery Charge (RRC) increased by 2 million dollars.

The increase in property tax and penalties for late payment have not yet been implemented; but that too shall yield an increase when implemented.

Certain lead-time is required for the property tax implementation; the same for increased ABST on tour operators.

By agreement, the taxes will not be imposed until June of 2024. Promoters of events have 15 days to pay up, following the completion of their event.

  1. Tax the poor working class out of existence. All this increases in revenue and the country still stink and dirty. Small contractors can’t get paid, small businesses can’t get paid. Guess the Alfa Naro and Liat 20/20 and the greedy politicians and their minions eating up the revenue.

      • Didn’t the Public Servants got a 14% Increase. Wasn’t it why the ABST had to be increased by 2%. So naturaly the revenue must have gone up. This is nothing magical. And the PM is thing of increasing the pension as well. So again the public servants will benefit from the increase tax revenue

  2. Of course they’re up. They’re taxing the hell out poor people with only the politicians and their cronies showing benefit.
    These clowns get together weekly to tell the public what they want them to hear.

  5. @Brix, we will see no benefit until the country rids itself of this scourge called ALP. You have expressed the effects of Birdism, Croniism and now Browneism upon this country on several occasions and it rings true.
    From biblical concept: these offend us and must be cut off.
