Antigua Cruise Port marked the commencement of its homeporting season today by welcoming P&O Cruises’ Arvia, alongside the arrivals of SeaDream II and Viking Sea.

Arvia, P&O Cruises’ newest Excel-class vessel, boasts a capacity of approximately 5,200 passengers and 1,800 crew members. The ship embarked on a 14-day Caribbean voyage, with Antigua serving as the starting point.

This event underscores Antigua’s growing prominence as a homeporting destination in the Caribbean.

In addition to Arvia, the port also hosted SeaDream II and Viking Sea. SeaDream II, a luxury mega-yacht accommodating 112 guests, offers an intimate cruising experience. Viking Sea, part of Viking Cruises’ ocean fleet, is known for its elegant design and cultural enrichment programs.

Antigua Cruise Port has been enhancing its facilities to support homeporting operations. In November 2023, the port successfully conducted simultaneous homeporting operations with Arvia and Emerald Sakara, highlighting its capability to manage multiple large vessels efficiently.

The port’s strategic initiatives aim to position Antigua as a premier homeporting hub in the Caribbean, offering passengers seamless embarkation experiences and access to the region’s diverse attractions.

As the season progresses, Antigua Cruise Port anticipates welcoming more vessels, further solidifying its status in the cruise industry.
