    • The Hon Gaston Brown and his administration were only concern about the economy, wait……..I taught we were an economic power-house. No one ask his party to shut down the entire country just restrict entrance from countries with high levels of COVID-19. And stop lying to the people.

  3. It is amazing how you people gloat at this thing. I can’t wait for the hard times to really kick in. Make you all feel it in you all b**kside.

  4. CLOSE ALL TOURISM BERORE IT GETS WORSE

The money being made now will be nothing compared to the economic/death toll if this is not contained immediately.

  5. Confused if these patients are recovering when where there tested positive that means these patient had the virus all along when only one case was reported seems like some one is hiding something .need answers as a health care worker no protection from patients

  6. I’ve been saying this for the past few weeks, and I say it again… CLOSE ANTIGUA FOR ALL BUSINESS OTHER THAN COMMERCIAL IMPORTS! i.e. Food and fuel.

Other parts of the world are closing borders and locking down their countries as they know they can not care for the influx of casualties once this thing peaks.

This is the biggest threat to human life in the past 100 years.

    WAKE THE FCUK UP!!!

  7. These pple had to be amongst locals where the pple theu travelled in plane or boat with. Are u tek this for joke now man. And them proud it nuh transmitted locally are u nuh easy…

  8. And when did they arrive in Antigua? How long were they here before the test results came in? How many other people were exposed to them in that time; on the plane, the taxis to their respective hotels, the hotel staff and other guests where they stayed or are currently self-isolating, the restaurants and shops and any other unsuspecting people they came into contact with?
Close the borders already! There are flights and boats arriving daily with countless possible infected travelers. Especially when the Government suggests that Antigua is a safe haven for foreigners to ride out the storm…How reckless! There is only one explanation for keeping Antigua “open for business”: Greed. Where and what will we spend our tourists’ dollars on, when Antigua’s people and healthcare system are overcome with this virus, there is a mandatory shutdown of all businesses and we are confined to our homes just like the rest of the world? It is coming our way, just read the International news…or is Antigua surrounded by a magic bubble?
Please close the borders now. The financial burden may sting a little bit, but it is our only hope to avoid a catastrophic disaster, which will REALLY put a hole in our pockets…and our hearts.

    • Totally agree with you. The border should close except for those who need to be repatriated to the UK, US etc. If Europe and the States are struggling with the pandemic, how on earth are the small islands meant to cope? I wish people would take this seriously. Love and prayers to Antiguans.

  9. It’s high time the govement closed all the boarders and other port of entry. This virus is devastating

  10. Leaders sometimes are faced with hard decisions to make but at the end of the day they have to bite the bullet in order to achieve the best result

  11. Gaston, THERE ARE NO MORE TOURISTS COMING. Close the borders please. The only cases we have are imported from UK and USA. Are we going to wait until we are infested with the virus from overseas before we close the borders?

  12. These are the cries of the people, the people who voted you to govern and now you neglect to hear us….shame on you.

  13. It’s a reality.
I’m here in the UK and we’re on Lockdown..!!! Which I feel should have happened some weeks ago.
In understanding how this COVID-19 spreads like wild fire, Antigua needs to do the same very fast. The economic down turn will be nothing in comparison to the population wipeout .
    Isolate yourselves now !
    Peace & Hope
