Headline: Police say Villa deaths still under investigation, leave open murder-suicide possibility

Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of two teenagers found with gunshot wounds in Villa last month, with authorities saying the case is still being treated as a double murder while other possibilities remain under review.

Seventeen-year-old Omarie Lewis and his 18-year-old girlfriend Breanna Clarke were discovered on Hans Street on the morning of March 26.

Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers, speaking in an interview with ABS News, indicated that investigators have not yet reached a final conclusion on the nature of the incident.

“We are looking at it differently… I did say I’m not treating it as a double murder,” Jeffers said, before adding that investigators are awaiting further evidence before making a definitive determination.

He noted that, for now, the case continues to be handled as a double murder while police work toward clarifying the circumstances.

“Maybe I should say, let’s treat it as a double murder for now until we come to the conclusion that it is otherwise,” Jeffers added.

The commissioner did not provide further details on what evidence is being examined but confirmed that the investigation remains active.

The deaths have drawn significant public attention, with questions persisting over whether the case involves a third party or could ultimately be classified as a murder-suicide.

  1. In cases like this, investigators can conduct ballistic tests, such as examining gunshot residue on the hands, to see if someone actually pulled the trigger. They can also do ballistic comparisons to match bullets or shell casings to a specific firearm. But if the scene is compromised—like evidence being tampered with or poorly preserved—these tests become unreliable. Without that integrity in the evidence, it’s a lot harder to figure out exactly who was responsible, which is why so many cases end up unsolved.

  2. Are you police pliable and wicket bad! Just to let Gaston go through in this election as though the country is not under a siege of crime because of the economic hardship created by the government on power, you the police has decide to use some benign description of the murder of these two persons, were they white people you so would not be talking but getting down to action to show empathy, at this time Gaston has ask you to treat it as nothing, a dog dead! Oops

  3. A murder suicide would be easier to solve and not make the police and prosecutors look incompetent.

  4. WHAT THE HELL…! …SPREADING CONFUSION…? …THOUGHNESS IN INVESTIGATIONS.

FIRST, when ‘…STRATCOM’ came out, it reported:

    (a) ‘…DRIVE-BY SHOOTING: then

    (b) …THEN THEY BEGAN ‘…BAMBOOZLING: and

    (c) …NOW, THEY HAVE SHIFTED TO SPECULATING.’

    MURDER/SUICIDE

They cannot even suggest ‘…MURDER SUICIDE?’

    ***

    WHY…?

NO WEAPON HAD BEEN RECOVERED FROM THE SCENE.’

    LOGIC DICTATES THAT: if

    (a) ‘…THE MALE SHOT AND KILLED THE FEMALE: he

    (b) …WOULD HAVE POSSESSION OF THE FIREARM: and should he

    (c) …SHOT HIMSELF, THEN THE WEAPON SHALL BE FOUND NEAR TO HIS BODY,’

    ***
    NON-RECOVERY: …THIRD PARTY INVOLVEMENT

    Again, logic dictates that:

    (i) ‘…NON-RECOVERY’ of a ‘…FIREARM,’ should

    (ii) …SUGGEST A ‘…THIRD PARTY’ INVOLVEMENT.

    EITHER

    (a) ‘…THE DOUBLE KILLER: or

    (b) …REMOVING THE FIREARM.’
