SOURCE: GRANMA- A wave of solidarity from the international community is once again on Cuba’s side, just a few days before the United Nations resubmits a resolution on the need to end the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of the United States against the largest of the Antilles.
Voices were raised this weekend from U.S. cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, demanding an end to the policy, described as genocidal. Support for the Cuban cause was mobilized across the nation.
From the homeland of Simón Bolívar came an embrace of solidarity, expressed during a recent debate on the upcoming UN vote, where it was emphasized that successive U.S. administrations have ignored the international community’s stance and past General Assembly resolutions.
The blockade, seen as a flagrant human rights violation by a government that claims to champion human rights, is enforced through laws like the Helms-Burton and Torricelli Acts, which intensify sanctions and seek to isolate Cuba internationally.
“The devastating consequences of this U.S. policy are aggravated by Cuba’s designation on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, sanctions on shipping companies, shippers, and insurers involved in Cuba’s fuel supply, and the persecution of financial transactions,” stated the Belarusian party, Belaya Rus.
In Panama City, a large caravan moved through the capital in support of Cuba, advocating for a world that cannot stand idle in the face of such injustice and demanding stronger action against the U.S.’s harsh stance.
The Dominican Committee of Solidarity with Cuba in Santiago de los Caballeros also called for an end to the economic siege, while the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba condemned the policy as an aberration.
Members of the European Parliament, from various political parties, signed a solidarity letter following Cuba’s energy emergency and the impact of Hurricane Oscar in eastern Cuba. They demanded the immediate lifting of the blockade and praised Cuba’s resilience.
Reports of solidarity acts in Spain, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Russia, Belize, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Honduras, Uruguay, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Bolivia, Canada, Sweden, Barbados, Australia, Germany, and Antigua and Barbuda highlight the global support for the largest of the Antilles.

America is above ALL. And therefore it doesn’t act or even listen to anything the world has to say. America is above it all. And what America says goes. It doesn’t matter which president is in power it will do what they pleases. And guess what, no one can do anything about it. That is it when you are the World Super Power. You think anyone can make America pay retribution for the crime committed in World War II by dropping an Atomic Bomb on innocent people, killing hundreds of thousands in one hit. Do you think you can hold them accountable for the crime commited in Vietnam, using napalm bomb on innocent people children and women included. You think you can keep them accountable for have started a war against Iraq under false intellegence, and thereby killing hundreds of thousands and distroying an entire country. And the list goes on. The point is, America cannot be held accountable for anything. They are above ALL. If they say Cubans should not eat, well so be it.
