Prime Minister Gaston Browne has confirmed that Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, will begin scheduled flights to Antigua and Barbuda by early next year or later this year.

“We’ve had difficulties getting a partner, so we’re very grateful that this partnership between Air Peace and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda has come to fruition,” Browne said.

This partnership aims to facilitate the movement of tourists from Nigeria to Antigua and Barbuda, enhancing the country’s tourism sector.

Browne assured that measures are in place to prevent issues encountered during previous attempts to bring African tourists to the Caribbean.

“We’ve learned lessons from past experiences and have implemented better controls. We aim to move genuine, wealthy tourists from Nigeria to Antigua on a scheduled flight basis, contributing to our tourism product,” he added.

In addition to the Air Peace partnership, Browne highlighted the expansion plans for LIAT 2020, the regional airline.

The airline is expected to open new gateways within the next year, including routes to South America through Panama and potential future routes to North America.

    The Nigerians are in this man pocket, no doubt about it…why go to such lengths to continue to deal with these Nefarious scammers.

    And I’m not talking Nigerians on a hold, the so-called “rich scammers” because we fully well know which Nigerians have the desire to come here so they can hide from the authorities..like the ones who likes to run to Dubai to hide their stolen money and live large.

  4. It is all nice and good to hear that Liat has potential routes to north America, but I do not think that is necessary or will be competitive. What I think is better is for Liat to create a code sharing agreement with a united or delta or some other major airline where connections can be made out of Puerto Rico.

  6. GB’s administration has not learned no lessons. Antiguans should be in no doubt about the intentions of GB’ so called “rich tourists ” , as mentioned earlier GB’s “Rich tourists ” are scammers and fraudsters.
    GB’s administration has give them visa free access to enter Antigua, but Antiguans has to pay to obtain Nigeria’s visa, how is that beneficial to Antigua?

    If GB wants to learn lessons, he should refer to the corruptions Nigerians have caused in Trinidad as well as being mindful of the embarrassment Olabanjo, the chief immigration and himself caused from their so-called asylum seekers.

    He is reminded that within one day of them arriving in Antigua they were involved in activities that they know best to execute… scamming, few of them were arrested and to date we have not heard the outcomes from those legal issues.

    How financially viable a plane full of Nigerians coming to Antigua for “Tourism”, when Nigeria is not known as a tourists destination because of their notorious
    reputation for kidnapping and holding people for ransom. Also,what will the plane be returning with?

    What will it take for the buffoon to understand that Nigerians are bad news and should never be considered as credible trading partners.

    The British has taken tremendous steps to keep them out of the UK, the US is doing the same.
    Part of the reason for the UK and other EU countries imposing visa requirements on Antigua is to do with this corrupt partnership that the buffoon is establishing with his so-called “Rich tourists “, which speaks volumes in itself.
    Another embarrassment awaits us from GB’s madness. He is a liability to our nation and a disgraced.

  9. Don’t also forget to mention how Africans got ripped off by some dubious Antiguans especially the ones that run travel agency companies and some Antigua landlords.
    If not for a Nigerian, Liat would still be struggling to get back on its feet.
    Show me one Nigerian that has committed a criminal act in Antigua. Nigerians are known all over the world not just for a wrong reason but for some honourable reasons.

Once again Antigua and Barbuda leading the way. Many Antiguans now finally have the opportunity to visit the motherland Africa without having to obtain a US visa. And will many of our Caribbean brothers and sisters do.

  18. @Lest we forget. Oh boy! It is becoming harder to respond to the garbage spouted here in response to the nonsense Gaston keeps doing to us. Now, why would one require a US visa to go anywhere in Africa?? To the rest I would just remind about the African saga and the fact that not one of them can be found now in Antigua, after the noises about brothers and loving them do much.
    The scale of that fiasco pales compare to what is to come for Antigua.

  19. It’s just another scheme. They tried it previously and we know that 13 died at sea and the others are wherever. No inquiries,absolutely no concern by the orchestrators but one of the key players berated the drowned victims and called them unscrupulous and overzealous. The sole purpose of this venture is to legitimize the billions that fraudsters have managed to accumulate and can’t put to work at home. They find willingly accomplices in Antigua. This venture will be shortlived because whenever the deal is done, the program will be abandoned. Just wait and see.
