“Air Conditioning Units to Be Installed in 10 Government Schools by Next School Year”

Air conditioning units are set to be installed in at least 10 government schools, with Director of the Environment Diann Black Layne aiming for completion by the start of the next school year.

“We have a project promising air conditioning for only 10 government schools,” Layne stated. “We are working with the Ministry of Education to secure additional units, and it looks promising.”

The installation process includes re-engineering the schools’ infrastructure and performing electrical upgrades. Assessments are necessary to ensure proper insulation, wiring, and that APUA can support the increased load.

The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has set a 60-day deadline for the project.
