For their outstanding contributions to regional and international development, The University of the West Indies (The UWI) presented honorary degrees to 14 eminent persons at its 2021 graduation ceremonies.
Of the 14 eminent persons, two Antiguans were honored on Sunday October 10 during The UWI Five Islands Campus virtual graduation ceremony.
Dr George A. Mansoor (Physician, Educator and Entrepreneur) was awarded Doctor of Science (DSc) while Sir Anderson Montgomery Everton Roberts (Former Cricketer) was awarded Doctor of Laws (LLD).
Congratulations to Sir Andy and Dr. Mansoor.

I’ll add, Sir Roberts was the Father figure, prophet with a message to me, as an Antiguan Black Bastard Kid, searching for his #Roots n #Culture in the 1970’s Revolutionary period.
In my mind, thought processes at that time, Sir Roberts working on the Fruitii Soda Truck, yet sending fear into the hearts of #White #Men with that little RED round ball, as the weapon, hey that put #HAPPINESS #PRIDE and #JOY in me, as again a Black Kid, that to this day memories that of period, of my Anteegahness gives me strength beyond compare. It’s the #Roots which holds, keeps my mental evolution and revolution spirit solidly anchored to this Universe!
