Greene Predicts D. Gisele Isaac Could Exit Frontline Politics After 2026 Election
E. P. Chet Greene says United Progressive Party Chair D. Gisele Isaac may be nearing the end of her political career as the opposition party struggles to recover from its election defeat.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party chairman claimed Isaac had previously considered stepping down but remained in place to avoid exposing divisions within the UPP ahead of the general election.
“There were talks before the election that she didn’t want to resign,” Greene said, adding that she was persuaded to remain so “it would not appear that the division went that deep.”
Greene also suggested Isaac was now attempting to keep competing factions within the opposition united as the party determines its future leadership direction following the April 30 election loss.
“I believe Giselle, having studied her over time, is the kind of person who will be trying to pull her own faction together to determine who becomes leader,” he said.
The ABLP chairman argued that the opposition faced major political challenges moving forward and claimed the UPP had little realistic chance of defeating the governing Labour Party in its current state.
Toward the end of his remarks, Greene predicted that Isaac could leave frontline politics after the next general election.
“What I know is that election 2026, she tops the retirement list,” he said.

He made his move and it totally backfired. So much so that when Gaston ‘100 Promises’ Browne got wind of it, he wasted no time at all in undermining his position with the Ambassador Ronald Sanders.

Hey Chet, the election DONE and y’all say y’all want to unify the country. Well this is a bad way to start, even though non-labourites knew that was just talk. By the way Chet, Gaston had just before the election fired some serious barbs against you and your family. Care to tell us about those???
For years now yo guys come on ANR, and claimed Chet has no guts, he is afraid to go up against the PM, you guys was searching so much for just a little disruption in the ABLP camp, similar to what was going on in the UPP, but gain no traction.
I guarantee Chet will be Prime Minister of this beloved country, long before any political leader you may find to conjure up in the UPP organization as your next PM in waiting. By the way let me put It this way, that’s if UPP in it’s remaining years as this country’s main Opposition, will ever gain enough seats to govern Antigua and Barbuda once again, on the other hand I often wonder with Pringle as Prime Minister, what important ministry will he choose to put under his name.

As much as I’m a positive person (and yes, the defeat to the ABLP was a real shock), but the slither of comfort I get from this UPP defeat is that Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his government Ministerial team have made over 100 pre-election promises to the country that they must now keep.
They have definitely made a rod for their own backs by this, andbif they break just ONE of those promises – and as both of you are ardent followers of Brixtonian – you’ll know that I’ll be primed and ready to remind the ABLP “when” they break ANY covenants to the citizens of this beautiful country.
I HOPE THEY PROVE ME WRONG…

Chet is closer to 100 years old than he is to 60, so when is he going to be Party Leader, much less Prime Minister,after his Handler has already identified a Newbie who is lightyears younger than old Chet? Chet might not be Foreign Minister after January 2027 if the Cabinet reshuffle takes place, so he has to BIG UP Gaston now. He actually has Leadership ambition but has to pretend otherwise or he might just get the same treatment as his wife. You know GB will not tolerate any snake in the grass
Pringle won his seat and now is the time for him to rebuild the UPP. Right now, for those who understand the rudiments of politics, you will understand the problem is not Gaston or the ABLP because they won the election hands down by what ever means they implemented as a strategy to win. The problem is what Pringle should do right now to rebuild the UPP and bring everyone under one umbrella. The executive of the UPP, is fully responsible for the downfall of the UPP plus loosing the election so bad. None of them on the executive understand the true meaning of politics and how to handle politics . For the UPP to bounce back, Pringle need to fire the entire executive except Shawn Nicholas. He must put in place a clause when he having the next convention, that no former executive member should be elected as members on the new executive. Isaac, Semister, Whenner and Alister, they run the executive with venom. If one hate you, they all hate you. I always listen to Mr. Knight at nights, and I heard him giving the UPP professional advice for free and the executive ignore Mr. Knight. Even strong UPP supporters brush aside everything Mr Knight said. They broke half inch steel in their ears and the branded Mr. Knight as a member of the ABLP. We all with common sense in our head knows that MR. Knight cam never and will never be a member of the ABLP. Mr. Knight is campaigning for a change in the politics of Antigua and Barbuda and it is his wish that the UPP take over the reigns of power in this country. But the Ning-com-poop brainless executive high jack the UPP and brush Pringle in a corner. If Pringle had his way, he would stand up to them but poor boy, he alone against all of them . My advice to Pringle, send all the members of the executive to Redonda except Shawn Nicholas. She is not as contankerous like those fallen from grace from the executive. Mr. Knight once again, I salute you. Yor are a GENIUS. A man with the EAGLE EYE. The ABLP used the internet to campaign but the UPP didn’t. You see an add from them once in a while but the stone that the builder refused, DEMANI TABOR, he made the ABLP look good on the internet. You can’t watch your program in peace because Demani Tabor flooded the internet and on every body’s phone with the ABLP Advertisements and the plans of the ABLP. The UPP should never get rid of DEMANI TABOR. A very good PRO. The UPP can come back very strong again once you banish the executive of the UPP.

All praises to the Most High that Richard, Shoogy, Lovell and Bowen LOST their seats. All of them actively sought to undermine and badplay Pringle, but it was Pringle who emerged victorious. Praise the Lord that neither of them got Senate appointments. UPP needs to look for new candidates in each of their former constituencies to replace them!!!
