Youth Show Love – Creative Video Competition

The Ministry of Tourism and Investment in  conjunction with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries is pleased to invite primary school students across Antigua & Barbuda to participate in the Youth Show Love, Children’s Video Competition for a chance to become the nation’s Youth Tourism Ambassador for a one-year period.

The first edition of what is to become an annual competition will focus on what the tourism industry means to our everyday life from a child’s perspective.

Each entrant must submit a creative 45 seconds amateur promotional video on the topic; “What Does Tourism Mean to Me?”.

The competition is open to all public and private school students who are currently in Grades 3-6.  Each school must submit their entries on a labelled flash drive along with their completed entry forms to the Ministry of Tourism and Investment, located at the government offices complex on Queen Elizabeth Highway no later than Friday, February 12, 2021.

Two winners from each school, one male and one female will be chosen by the school’s selection committee, while the Ministry of Tourism and Investment’s selection committee will select the top 5 male and top 5 female finalists of which one male and one female winner will be announced on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

The top 10 finalists’ videos will be uploaded to the Ministry of Tourism & Investment’s official Facebook page and each finalist and their school are required to promote their video via Facebook and the 2 videos (One male and One Female) that create the greatest impact through likes will be adjudged the overall winners.

Social media voting will end on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 4:30p.m.

It is important to note that entrants must not be in their school uniforms when recording their videos.

The Ministry of Tourism and Investment reserves the right to use the entrant’s name and photograph for promotional purposes and all video entries become the property of the Ministry of Tourism and Investment.
