The 2022 Fete Season continues to ramp up for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, and many of the nation’s youth are anxious to re-enter the social scene. Some of the top young entrepreneurs and influencers are voicing their opinions about good money management strategies that the youth should consider to maintain a sense of balance. They will be featured presenters in the Virtual Youth Opportunities Lessons and Outcomes (YOLO) Summit coordinated by SamuelFields Consulting Group (SFCG).

This virtual YOLO Summit will be hosted via Zoom Events on June 5, 2022 from 10 am – 7pm. It is designed to help the youth build healthy financial habits under the theme “Maximize Opportunities NOW That Empower Youth (MONEY).”  Youth between the ages of 15 – 35 are invited to register for this FREE event, for a power-packed day of self-discovery, learning, leadership building, inspiration and networking.  (REGISTER at: https://bit.ly/3K5C2h0)

“As young people we work hard, play hard and watch our money grow. It’s fete season, but we must keep our eyes on the money. I encourage all young people to register for the Virtual YOLO Conference on Sunday June 5th. You will have a chance to win 2 tickets to the SOBO Fete, the event of the year,” said Humroy Wright, of H. Wright Promotions. He will Co-Host the event along with Johann Tonge of Good Morning Antigua Barbuda.

The event is sponsored by a number of local companies that share a mutual passion for financial literacy, youth development and community learning. St. John’s Co-operative Credit Union (SJCCU) is the presenting sponsor, Courts Ready Cash is the Gold Pro Sponsor, ECAB and Tradewinds Hotel are session sponsors and H. Wright Promotions is the main promoter of the event.

“We want to help build the capabilities and expand the choices of our young people, by enhancing their access to and participation in financial education sessions. Financial literacy will help them develop a positive sense of identity. This will help them make healthy financial decisions, so that they can realize their value and full earning potential,” said Megan Samuel Fields, CEO of SFCG.

“Investing in the youth, demonstrates our commitment not only to the improved well-being and livelihoods of our youth, but also to the economic, social and cultural development of future generations. We believe that financial problems can be fixed with education and not with money,” said Jennifer Whyte, General Manager of SJCCU.

“We believe that financial education should be a continuous process, from childhood to adulthood. The imagination, ideals and energy of our young men and women are vital for the continuing development of our society,” said Gabrielle Martin, Courts Ready Cash Manager

About the Virtual YOLO SUMMIT

YOLO, a popular acronym for “you only live once” popularized by the rapper Drake over a decade ago, has emerged as the #1 money mantra among the youth, after months of living in a state of anxiety and burnout. SFCG has “flipped the script” on this mindset and YOLO stands for Youth Opportunities, Lessons and Outcomes. LEARN, INNOVATE and GROW! REGISTRATION for Youth Ages 15 – 35 is FREE at: https://bit.ly/3K5C2h0
