Mr. YIDA Zhang of the YIDA project, located at Guiana Island and Coconut Hall Estate has reported on the progress being made on developing the project.
Valued at US$1.5 billion dollars, the project spans 1500 acres of land.
The Prime Minister visited the Yida project on Saturday past and noted the progress.
For example, a four-lane highway is being constructed on the Antigua side of the project; it is several miles long. The Public Works reportedly has earned $4 million dollars, within the past months, providing aggregates and services in the building of the highway.
The Cabinet heard that several new buildings have been constructed and a new restaurant is to be completed in weeks, allowing for chefs from several parts of the world to prepare cosmopolitan dishes.
In the Cabinet, Mr. Yida also shared a comprehensive plan for the development of the entire property, including Guiana Island.
He said, the land space will be divided into six areas, including a manufacturing sector of several factories for export of industrial goods, a Jack-Nicklaus-designed golf course, an international university, hundreds of high-priced houses, a multi-storied financial sector building, topped-off by a Ritz Carlton on Guiana Island.
