Wounding with scissors leads to discovery of gun and ammunition in backpack of young man accused of offense

A recent altercation has left a young man nursing two wounds inflicted with scissors, while his attacker was later found with an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Reports say the mother of the Nut Grove youth called the Grays Farm Police Station and reported that her son and another young man had been involved in an altercation – over a pair of Birkenstock slippers – during which he stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors.

The victim reportedly sustained injuries to the upper left arm and to the right shoulder for which he had to seek medical attention. He was transported to the hospital by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

The Police later found the alleged perpetrator at his home. With the consent of his mother, a search was conducted on his person and a modified flare gun and five rounds of ammunition were found in his backpack.

The young man was detained and the firearm and ammunition were taken to the Grays Farm Police Station for further investigation.

  1. You find a youth with a firearm and ammunition in his possession you don’t detained him. You arrest him for committing the offense. Next step to follow is to charge him. There is no detained and charged. It is arrested and charged.

  2. I’m not sure why many times when I try to make a constructive criticism of the poor journalism presented I’m unable to post it. I would receive a notification stating that the comment was made before.
I feel very upset when I’m unable to make my post. It’s not that I’m making the same comment more than once per day.

  3. My concern is that our education system is failing. We are ending up with a bunch of delinquent young people. We need to be able to track theses young people right through the school system. We need trade schools and compulsory military or Cadet service. We need the ministry of social transformation to come up with innovative program to get our young people to become meaningful citizens. Conflict solving from Kindergarten. Don’t think that you and your children are safe . These same young people end up becoming robbers and end up at your rich homes. They hold you up in your cars and rob uou at gun point. You will meet them in traffic and a simple incident and they are ready to attack. No one will be safe no place is safe . Have you gone to Guyana or Jamaica and see the burglar bars on the houses and every single business place. The churches are getting robbed of their sound systems. Who next? Do you really fell safe .

  4. @ Frankly speaking. How Guyana and Jamaica get into your business? I live in Antigua and have burglar bars on my house donkey years now. Education is not the only problem. The main problem is the single parent home ( with the black family) And it’s all over where black people live. Let’s be honest and face it. Three children, three different fathers. Not good. Syrians and Chinese have lived here for donkey years. I don’t see them idling at the corner of the roadside in the early morning, or after school. Where’s the discipline from the homes? The ministry introduced rules about phones and hairstyles, and it’s one commotion. No sensible local programs for the children on the television. Not many afternoon programs for the ever growing list of poor children. Where are the community programs? Be careful that if this trend continues, there might be a need to build more prisons.
