The Ministry of Works and Housing’s Project Implementation Management Unit will be holding a public consultation for members of the Friar’s Hill Road business community to discuss the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.

The consultation will take place at the Multipurpose Cultural Center on Wednesday, December 6 at 6pm.
Project Coordinator, Mr. Dennis Cudjoe said:

“With road works scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018, this is a great opportunity for business owners to learn more about the project and voice their concerns.”

Stakeholder engagement is a crucial component in the UKCIF (United Kingdom Caribbean Infrastructure Partnership Fund) grant of 13.9 million British Pounds which is being administered by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) with oversight from the Department for International Development (DFID).

Antigua and Barbuda is the first Caribbean nation to access these funds which set out to improve infrastructural capacity.

The link between the community and the implementation agency is Anne Harewood George Community Liaison Officer. She said:
“We are very excited to be holding the first major stakeholder consultation and we hope that participants will feel empowered to give us constructive feedback that will help us to ensure the successful implementation of this historic project.”

The objective of the public consultation is to begin a dialogue with members of the business community so that they can be adequately informed and several more consultations will be held for the duration of the project.
