Brit McDonald, daughter of the late Andrew McDonald, has raised serious concerns over an unauthorized event scheduled to take place at the iconic Andrew McDonald Estate in Antigua and Barbuda.

The event, organized by Vyce Antigua and registered at the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), is allegedly taking place without the necessary approvals from the Development Control Authority (DCA) and the property owner.

McDonald expressed her dismay, stating, “Why are they building a waterfront construct at [Andrew McDonald Estate] without DCA approval? Y’all have architectural drawings and mock-up promotions for the event which is depicting our property! You have no permission!”

The controversy deepens as McDonald claims that the event, named “Bali” and set at Vyce Deck, is erroneously labeled as part of Sunset Cove and common areas.

She argues that the property boundaries have remained unchanged despite multiple auctions and ownership transitions, and she insists that the organizers should have sought permission from the estate before proceeding with the construction.

She said notable figures, including Kwesi Dj-Crutches Jarvis, have been promoting the event without being aware of the alleged discrepancies.

McDonald is concerned that the event, featuring renowned DJs such as Dj Private Ryan from Trinidad, poses a safety risk, especially given its waterfront location and potential intoxication of attendees.

Furthermore, McDonald accuses Vyce Antigua of selling tickets and cabanas without proper authorization from the estate.

Tickets have been made available at various locations, including The Larder, Mongoose Studios, Roti King Antigua, and on the TickeTing platform.

The aggrieved party is now calling for immediate action, demanding that Vyce Antigua rectify the situation promptly by returning everything to its original state and notifying patrons not to trespass on the Andrew McDonald Estate.

McDonald also urges individuals who have purchased tickets for the event to be cautious and reconsider attending an unauthorized gathering.

The controversy has sparked the hashtag #justiceforAndyMcDonald on social media, with residents and supporters expressing their concerns about the potential legal and safety implications surrounding the unauthorized New Year’s Eve event.

The situation is unfolding rapidly, and local authorities are expected to investigate the allegations raised by Brit McDonald.
