This incident reportedly occurred at about 3 a.m. on January 1, 2024, and the 34-year-old woman went to the All Saints Police Station and made the report.

Allegedly, the woman was at home with her current boyfriend, aged 30, of Montrulla, when she saw certain movements.

She reportedly reviewed her surveillance cameras and noticed a male figure – fitting the description of the alleged offender – trespassing on her property. Reportedly, the man was dressed entirely in dark clothing.

As a result, her boyfriend went outside to ask why he was there.

However, he and the intruder got into an altercation and a scuffle ensued between the two.

During the melee, the woman – who had been observing the confrontation – noticed that her ex was attempting to reach into his waist for what appeared to be a weapon.

Accordingly, she reportedly fired off six rounds of ammunition from her licensed firearm, which caused her ex to flee from the scene.

The Police were called to the scene to conduct investigations, and a search of the surrounding areas and property was carried out; however, no damage to persons or property had been sustained.

They went looking for the intruder, as well, but he was not found. Neither were the spent shells.

  1. Atta girl!!! Because some of these fools here really be thinking we are joking when we tell them to get gone. More ladies here need to do this. Give them no quarter!

  2. At age 34, this girl has to be a serious business women why she is a holder of a license firearm…….. Interesting……. Commendation to her!!

  3. Holding a license firearm is cool, but did she let go the six shots in the air? At least go to a gun range and and practice so that the next time you can hit a target.

  4. Start woman for not shootin the man, she could probably give police some lessons. Warning shoots was ideal and it did the job.

  5. Gun shot a spray like spray can, a suh woman especially need to deal with man who feel dem can just run in an bad anyone or control woman, cudda be him face turn inna strainer.
Respect to this woman, this is a propper woman.
Prappa things fe stay pun tap a things nah back a things.

  6. Interesting to see how we commend this woman without knowing the facts or full story and would public reaction be the same if the tables were turned and a man were to use his licensed firearm to protect his current from his ex ?

    • It is important when you can save a life using your license firearm you do so. As she stated the man was reaching in his* waist for a weapon. To me it went well and the peace was kept and no one was injured. I am happy it was contained without fatalities.

    • But at age 34 what businesses does she own to have a license firearm and what money does she work for to own a property something is not right about this story

      • Sad to hear how low minded you are to think like this.
Do you know the average person makes between 800 – 1200 per week? If you do not then I understand why you think this way because you’re below average.
At age 34 the average human being is settling with a family, house, career and a retirement plan.
        I feel sorry for you.

      • P.S before I forget to say. All the comments about person having to own a business to have a licensed firearm in Antigua and Barbuda is 100% false.
Register at a gun range and complete the necessary training. Then, once all requirements are met you can apply for a firearm license at the Police HQ.
Learn the law and exercise your rights.

  7. Women are stepping up to misogynistic, clingy and insecure males, who just won’t let go of former partners, and accept that the relationship is well and truly over, by letting them know that … enough is enough!

Not just in Antigua, but around the world men seem to have a problem when women want to end a relationship amicably, because of disruptive and unloving behaviour; and finding difficult to do so.

Using a gun sounds rather excessive, but the woman in question must have been highly distressed beyond reason.

  8. @Frost bite not every woman work for petty cash or may be dependent on a man for a few dollars. You ask what money does she work for to own a property at 34. For your information at 30yrs of age I had a bachelor’s degree, a child and my own property. I didn’t inherit it. I worked for it legitimately and honestly. So it’s not impossible to own a property at 32 and not be a footstool for any man who thinks they own you and can manipulate you. We are bigger than that. We know how to set goals and work to achieve things in life the old fashion way. BY HARD WORK, DETERMINATION AND SACRIFICE. Although we like to look good it’s not always about the hair, cheap clothes and the nails and an abusive man. Get a life

  9. That lady needs to go to the range. It shows there is a lacking in target practice. How could someone fired 6 and not hit that target?

  10. Heartened to know that even young women can get gun licenses and use it responsibly.
    Kudos to her.!
Just wished that more responsible people could get one without so much …
The hoodlums will always have the upper hand because of that.

  11. She’s a hard working woman who decided to build her home and provide for herself and her child. I can’t see why some of you think that’s impossible to do at 34yrs.
To the persons who are questioning her reason for having the firearm….she had to get it for the same ex. She has a restraining order against him. He has been to jail for assaulting her and damaging her property. Each time he gets out of jail, he comes and damages her home(break out the windows etc.) and tries to attack her.
She got it to protect herself and her child from the psychopath.

This has been going on for at least 4 years now. He just got released from jail and the first thing he decided to do was go after her….again.
So before you sit and judge, get some facts.
