SOURCE: ANTIGUA OBSERVER- Police are investigating an attempted robbery where an armed man tried to force a woman from her vehicle at gunpoint.
The incident occurred around 7:37pm on June 26 at the junction of All Saints and Jonas Roads.
The woman had reportedly visited her doctor and after returning to her vehicle, she entered and locked the doors. It was at this time that an unknown man walked up to the driver’s door and began knocking on the glass, demanding that she open the car door.
Reports are that the suspect was armed with a handgun.
However, the woman was able to reverse her car onto Jonas Road and sped away to safety.
The perpetrator was reportedly dressed in a white shirt and light blue jeans and his hair was braided.
A search was conducted in the surrounding areas for anyone fitting the description but was unsuccessful.
As the investigation is ongoing, the police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the perpetrator to contact the nearest police station.

The rule of thumb is that you always park your vehicle facing out. In other words, always back in to your parking area. This makes it easier to drive forward incase of emergencies.
Me think that the police should conduct profiling, send police out there to photograph anyone with a hoodie, and am talking black or white people, because the police will tip toe around white people, stop the police vehicle and take pictures of them and sometimes search them because they are already disguised and probably have crime implement or guns on them, but the photographing will put the police ahead in investigation, a next suggestions I have is for the government to engage china for these new solar powered street lights with camera combination, and don’t let the foolish engineers at APUA to go install them with batteries mounted at developed world security mounting height, so we going mount the batteries at the light height away from theft, these two things can assist the police and keep the country safe, oh!
