Dr. Albert Duncan,* MSJMC Medical Director said: We can confirm that sadly, a female patient, age 57, who had underlying medical conditions, have passed away at Mount St. John’s Medical Centre on March 18 at 2:48 am.
She had tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Why does it appears as if no dies of their “existing conditions” anymore.
Why does it appear that way? Because you imagined it that way. The media has never ever reported on individual deaths of person who have passed away as a direct result of medical conditions such as Diabetes, HTN or late stage carcinomas. They do report on deaths brought on by coronavirus infection. So that’s obviously what you’re going to hear about if your only source of information is the news. If you worked inside a hospital, you’d know better.
Like any other infectious disease, Covid-19 is picking off the most vulnerable to infection…the people in society in less than optimal health. When an infection destabilizes your previously managed health condition, it’s the reason you die. There’s nothing new about infection causing an increase in death in cases where persons are already compromised by metabolic or systemic disease…maybe the concept is just new to you. But in a hospital setting it happens all the time. The pandemic merely put a spotlight on it for the time being.
