REAL NEWS: The family of Winston “Mohammed” Charles, a resident of Green Hill, Liberta, is making a desperate appeal to the public for information on his whereabouts.

Reports say that Charles, 76, went missing on Sunday, August 27. One of his daughters tells REAL News he was last seen at home at about 1:30 or 2 p.m.

She explains that her father – who lives with a niece – suffers from dementia. He is on medication to calm his nerves, but has not had any since his disappearance.

The woman says it was her sister who realized their father was missing, sometime after 4 p.m., and notified her. Reportedly, the matter was reported to the Police as well.

In addition to the family members living with Charles, his sister resides next door. His niece was not at home when Charles managed to leave the house, but a male relative was present, reports claim.

His daughter says that Charles has wandered away in the past, but was usually brought back in a short time by persons who spotted him on the road.

This, she says, is the longest period that he has been missing from home.

The woman was unable to say what her dad was wearing at the time he left, but she says people claim to have cited him at different
locations across the island.

Some claim to have seen him on Jonas Road in the vicinity of the Mount Joy Service Station while others say he was spotted in the Pot Works Dam area.

Reportedly, the Police conducted searches for the elderly man on Monday morning, August 28, but he was not found.

Anyone with information on Charles’ whereabouts may contact his daughter at 723-9393 or the nearest police station.

  1. I hope they find this man. But if the family is aware of his medical situation, why is it you allow him to go somewhere by himself knowing that he may not remember how to find his way back. This is the same situation with many elderly people. It makes me wonder if people purposely let the leave the house knowing they will not come back. smh

    • Someone is missing and this is the best you can offer. How insensitive can you be to think the family is careless in how they manage their family with mental health illness. Let not use this space to add to the pain of those involved. We need all hands on dect to bring Mr. Charles home.

  2. If you see something, say something

  3. It’s not the time to be accusing this loving, kindhearted, humble family. However, for such and iconic Liberta figure to go missing and All Liberta people don’t take a day off in solidarity on a mission to search, then something is dead wrong with our community spirit. Muhammad is Liberta sports and Liberta sports is Muhammad !
