Former Police Commissioner Robinson

Commissioner of Police Wendell Robinson has written to the Permanent Secretary asking to be transferred to a suitable department within the public service.

He made the request in to Stacey Gregg-Paige, on October 30, 2019.

In the letter he asks that he be placed in an appropriate established position within the civil service in Antigua and Barbuda.

“I respectfully ask that where my allowance presently received cannot continue upon my transfer, that amount can be added as part of my salary or an alternate, appropriate allowance be put in its place,” Robinson’s letter read.

The commissioner who was facing termination also reportedly requested the use of a serviced  government vehicle similar to what obtains in his current position.

Two weeks ago Prime Minister Gaston Browne urged Robinson to negotiate his departure having been on suspension for two years with pay.

Browne suggested that Robinson could be given a position equal to what he now holds.

Subsequent to this the suspended commissioner missed two termination hearing arranged by the Police Service Commission.

  1. I think this is going to be very hard request to be granted. What happens if the minister he currently has a problem with, is then given that department to oversee? IMO You’d be better off to take the money and run!

  3. Why do some Antiguan’s thrive on others Downfall, and like to decide on a persons Guilt or innocence before the Courts determine such with evidence..
