Tuesday January 2, 2024, marked a crucial day for the Ministry of Agriculture, where a meeting was held with workers, including the President of the Public Service Association, Joan Peters, and the Director of Agriculture, Mr. Bailey.

The condemned state of the ministry’s current building prompted the gathering to take place outside on Independence Avenue. As discussions unfolded, it became clear that the workers were facing an uncertain future.

According to President Joan Peters, the workers at the Agriculture Ministry are left to pick up the pieces of a situation that has already gone awry.

They are set to spend the rest of the week addressing the immediate issues, with further instructions expected next Monday.

The destination of the workers remains unknown, as confirmed by President Peters herself.

Despite the urgency of the situation, the Permanent Secretary could not confirm the new location for the agricultural station at Dunbars.

The entire ministry is in the process of relocating, and the only information available at this point is that they are looking at the NTC Center on New Avenue, situated west of Yasco and east of LGA Grammar School, next to an incomplete hospital.

During the interview, it was evident that the uncertainty surrounding the relocation was a matter of concern for the workers. The condemned status of the current building has added urgency to the ministry’s decision to find a new location, putting the employees in a state of limbo.

Notably, Mr. Bailey, the Director of Agriculture, remained tight-lipped on the matter, offering no comments when pressed for information on how the workers would be affected by the situation at Donbas.

As the Ministry of Agriculture faces this challenging period, the public remains in the dark about the future of the workers and the specifics of the relocation.

  1. Tight lipped Bailey?????? This is a guy that like to talk and can talk. In fact is talking that got him this position. So cheese is now in your mouth. Then there is Mr. Chamber of commerce African , center of the African saga- Another guy that like to talk – in fact he like to jump ahead of the entire ministry and run to the media to gather fame. He too has cheese in his mouth because he running up and down behind the politicians.
This Ministry of Agriculture is now considered to be doing a worst than his previous three predecessors. He has no balls , pretends he don’t know what is going on. Telling the technicians to speak to the husband and wife that is running the country. Then going on the media and blaming his line staff. Yet telling the staff he has nothing to do with what is happening. Greed make cheese in his mouth. Grabbing. Grabbing, land grabbing . We are waiting to see who is going to own the hillside up Dunbars. We are hearing that it is a Serian that getting Dunbars lands- is that so ? Calling on the black picky head Antiguans to stand up.
You done shit out the ham and turkey so what next ? They are ripping this country off. They take us for bunch of Jack asses. Our Forefathers did not know better- lack of education.
Hey there are much much more intelligent brilliant and honest Antiguans that can run this country. Than those that political parties put up and end up in parliament.
Calling on the intelligent, young, educated Antiguans to say no to this nonsense. THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE WORKERS NEED TO BOND TOGETHER. YOUR NEIGHBOR HOUSE ON FIRE WET YOURS.
