CABINET NOTES:

The building is to be completed by October 2022 when the philanthropist will visit Antigua.

The building will be named after him: “The Harrison Center Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education”.

It will prepare tradesmen and women, through training and certification, to be able to seek employment in any country in the CARICOM region under the Skills Certificate programme.

The Cabinet reviewed the quantum of grants received by the Government over the past three years from wealthy people who visit Antigua and love it; they have contributed over $35 million dollars in grants.

  1. Kudos to the Gaston Browne administration….
Another learning institution is in the making. Clearly your focus is on empowering the people.
Its bcuz of the creditably in your Gov’t why such a grant has been offered…..

  2. This government admin is so lucky in getting the money/aids.!
It appears like almost every tangible thing done or being done in this state is through grants and ….
Praying that this intended institute will truly focus on equipping individuals, who are not academically incline, for the world of work, and it will not be taken over like previous institutions by those with forty lemty subjects.
Haven’t we noticed that many of our other Caribbean brothers and sisters, even if they are not academically eligible, they come trained and equipped in skills to fit any other work situation outside of …?
That’s because the focus is not only …, so they are not left behind.

  3. Many corrupt politicians would beg for themselves rather than for the country. But the UPP cannot refute that, so they now make up a story saying Browne traveling to beg for campaign financing. Let us say that is so. That will be a good thing, cause at least he is bringing in foreign money. The UPP seems to forget that in 2004 Stanford sponsored them big time. He gave the UPP double what he gave to the ABLP. All because of the rotten Asot Michael. The cancer the ABLP must get rid of.

  4. The UPP government begged also, but sadly enough it was not for the country. The begged for school buses which they now claim was for the members of the constituencies and not for the people of Antigua and Barbuda. They begged the Chinese woman for money which they claim was not for the purchase of passport but for the party. Only John Ashe could tell the truth and he is no longer with us. That is the difference between this government begging for the country and the UPP begging for the party.
