The manner in which two police officers arrested three people for allegedly not wearing masks in public has come under public scrutiny.

In the video, the uniformed police officer is wearing his mask below his nose.

Wearing of masks in public places is mandatory in Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Please everything police do is under scrutiny….When they dont enforce whatever law you all complain saying they not doing their job..give me a break.

  3. Why were they arrested, surely it was not because of Covid 19 protocols, sine those protocols are not arrest-able offences.

    Perhaps the arrest was failure to give the police their names etc and, then resisting arrest, etc.

  7. Allegedly??? It’s a video….they were either wearing it or not……..people just do the right thing! The quicker we can get this thing under control, the quicker we can all go back to “normal” whatever that is.

  8. I guess nobody saw that they were resisting the police. Say all you want about Antigua Police, try that stunt in the US and the police may actually shoot you.
    The police would not have had an issue if they complying or not resisting.

    • Saw that same officer less than five minutes before this incident, his mask was above his nose. I have seen lots of masks fall below noses as persons speak. We see it on TV all the time. Could it be that as the officer was making the arrest amidst the resisting, he was talking a lot, and his mask drop lower on his face.
