students about a dangerous device that allegedly is now on the market: a

While it is alleged that these pens are currently being sold, their sale in
Antigua and Barbuda has not been confirmed, and there is no record of
locals already having obtained them.
A video now in wide circulation demonstrates how the silver pen can be
loaded with a single bullet, which is then expelled from the tip. There is also
a trigger, which, when pulled, discharges the round.
The blast that emanates from this makeshift firearm is as loud as that from
an actual handgun.
Some concerned residents consider this device to be dangerous – and not
only for school children and young people. For example, they say, it can be
taken to the office and used to settle a dispute between co-workers.
However, other persons who have had experience with the use of guns say
the pen device is not as easily operated as it appears, and they believe its
capability is being exaggerated.
Meanwhile, the pen is easy to conceal and could easily slip through any
standard search for weapons, since most people would assume it is simply
a writing device.
Accordingly, this development is extremely scary and unsettling, one
woman states.
