Visitor arrivals up in second quarter

The Ministry of Tourism has released figures showing an increase in visitor arrivals for the Second Quarter of 2018.

The United States remains the leading source market. Visitor arrivals for 2018 only experienced a 2.67% increase, from that of 2017.

Antigua & Barbuda saw a decrease in visitor arrivals from the European market United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and the rest of Europe; while there was an increase of 163.38% in visitor arrivals from France.


According to the just releases figures, the OECS market experienced an increase of 18.90% in tourist arrivals in QTR2 of 2018 compared to the same time period in 2017.


It revealed that even though the French West Indies market is not a popular but a very lucrative one, there is an increase in tourist arrivals by 73.91% in 2018 when compared to the same period in 2017.
