The Board of Education conducted a series of virtual training sessions for its staff last
week in advance of the roll out of the Laptop in Secondary School Initiative.

Jem Lafraichere, the IT Coordinator who conducted the training sessions, indicated that while the Board of Education continuously provides training for its staff so that they are better able to serve the public, “we found the need to add an extra layer of support to the Book Liaison Officer who are our first point of contact in the schools, in relation to this
initiative, as well as the text books scheme.”

He further added that: “Our primary aim is to ensure that the relationship between the
Board of Education, the parents and the schools works in the best interest of the
students.”

The laptops in secondary schools initiative roll out starts on April 6 at the three pilot
schools.

Parents are reminded to walk with a Government Issued ID as well as the previously issued Ebook Device on the respective dates of distribution.
