Despite reporting these incidents, authorities dismissed his concerns as overactive imagination. However, after discovering what he believed to be a snake’s tail on his farm, and subsequent events where his dogs killed a baby snake, the seriousness of the situation became evident. The narrative underscores the discovery of the baby snake, which highlighted the potential presence of more snakes in the area, posing significant threats to both livestock and humans.

  1. I find this “video” and report to be quite suspicious. Why do we hear no voices in the video to positively identify that George Wehner really recorded this? How come the gentleman who made the initial report of the snake is not featured in this video with the snake corpse, like he was in the last one? Why did we not get a wider shot of the surroundings to identify the place as Antigua? Was the snake corpse taken to the authorities?

In the absence of the above, I’m still calling bullshit on this one.

  2. There are definitely snakes on Antigua. A few months ago I had a bottle of water on my porch. When I went to empty the bottle there was a long thing which looks like a baby snake to me. Of course I was trying to reason that it was an earthworm even though it was much darker than a worm and slithering quickly in the water in the bottle. I decided to keep the bottle on the porch to take to the EAG the next morning but my dog got to the bottle sometime in the evening. I have seen several snakes in my lifetime and I could have sworn it was a baby snake.

    • I believe those are small grass snakes. Been here for decades. They look like large earthworms but they move a lot more quickly. Those are fine. Every other invasive species (not the racer), please KILL.

  3. Could anyone confirm if Wehner has lost his voice, if there are technical issues with his audio or recording equipment, or if his recording device is running low on memory space? This is quite unusual and unexpected given his typically sensational reporting style.

    • @Dave Ray – whether or not, Whenner is silent on this video clip…

A…the rains are back, and coming more frequently. Lack of adequate preparation(s), at the natural runoff and storage sites is still allowing a good percentage, to return to the sea. Very poor infrastructural planning for a Nation which suffers from drought and constant clean potable water.

B…the rains are allowing the earth to breathe and regenerate new growth, of our flora and fauna. This is producing conducive environments/habitats for Nature’s creatures.
Snakes are not uncommon to Antigua. They’ve simply being brought under control by such means, as poisoning, mongoose, and of course deforestation.

If you happen to frequent, the inner core of the island, not the bikini, rum clad, entertainment for the rich, famous, infamous and pseudos, you’ll find many exciting animals besides those I described on the beaches.

Several years ago, people began warning about seeing #monkeys in the wild; and, many ridiculed them as being ridiculous well Dave Ray it is, not #Dave_Rarse, as someone implied, read the article in this same ANR – Blog_Site of today May 8th, 2024 and its indicating, that TRAPS have being donated, to capture several monkeys roaming wild in Antigua.

By the way, the Racer Snake is also present in our Nation; are you, aware of this?

      • @Ras Smood alias Vere C. Edwards:
I sympathize with you regarding your aimless plea for issues not on the table at this point. You’re responding fruitless to the wrong source. Those matters are not related to me, as I do not hold the purse to the country’s finances. Redirect your concerns elsewhere.

        • @Dave Ray…that’s me; but, the way you…

  4. If the snakes really exist my advise, just leave them alone. Most if not all of the other OECS Islands have snakes and they are just fine.

  5. Top top reporting again George, sometimes words are not needed when pictures will suffice.

Mr Wehner you deserve a top award for your investigative journalism

  6. First Iguana, then Monkey, now Snake, what next, Alligators and Crocodiles. Like Antigua planning on starting a Zoo.

    • @Dj – could you possibly rewind! Pull up! Say it loud, but you must say it louder and this time say, we’ll just add a few more exotic species, to those humans in the St. John’s Zoological Research Center, to enhance our National Zoo.
St. John’s is already a Zoo!

  7. That’s the proof what more proof y’all want. Y’all does sick me sometimes real talk. I hope these said individuals witness a snake some day. I’ll be waiting for the comments. Snakes are here. I had a neighbour who brought in snakes and monkeys. Soooo.,…
