A brazen daylight robbery has left residents and business operators in the Bethesda area on edge.
The targeted establishment was the superette located on Bethesda Main Road, where two individuals, a 62-year-old woman, and her 47-year-old daughter were confronted by four assailants.
According to the information received, the perpetrators arrived at the scene in a Noah van. Two of them entered the suet, brandishing weapons, and proceeded to rob both the occupants and the cash register.
The victims were reported to be carrying two leather bags containing $800 and $400, respectively. The assailants made off with the undisclosed sum from the bags, in addition to the cash taken from the register.
The ordeal took a terrifying turn when the criminals fired two shots outside as they were making their escape.
The husband of the suet operator, who was outside at the time, rushed to the aid of his wife and daughter upon hearing their screams.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the gunfire, but the incident has left the community shaken.
The robbery occurred around 4:15 PM, and the police are now conducting intensive investigations to apprehend the culprits.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
The Criminal Investigations Department can be reached at 462 3913, or individuals can contact Crime Stoppers at 800 8477.
The surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when the perpetrators disembarked from the gray Noah van and forcefully entered the mini-mart.
Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The driving citizens of this land seems to be the criminals, the police seems to put more emphasis into issuing tickets for traffic violations while the real criminals are robbing people in broad daylight
I so agree with you ticket ticket and parking in town while the Criminals getting away .Where is the Helicopters it just there park up doing nothing .Where are the Soldiers just sitting up at crabbs doing what and no Patrol of Police but just Bikers Driving up and down making noise almost running you off the road around the Clock like Ambulances .doing nothing Lord have Mercy on Antigua we DONE
Police Commissioner Attlee Rodney, the video evidence is there for you to see.
Just just look at how brazen these criminals have now become; daylight robbery with guns, and brandishing them at possible passers-by before being driven away by an accomplice.
I can’t believe what I’m seeing.
If you are not moved to do something with the evidence of your eyes from this outlandish and outrageous behaviour, then you Police Commissioner must resign forthwith, because your conscience is SEARED.
And take that lazy good for nothing devil, the Attorney General Steadroy Benjamin with you …
I couldn’t agree with you more. They have failed miserably and continuously.
Which police commissioner? The same one who had thanks giving service earlier in the month? Giving thanks for lack of police on the streets? Giving thanks for all the unsolved robberies plaguing the island? Giving thanks for cocaine selling officers? 800 police in the force and you cant find one patrol on the streets. Failed commissioner!!! Atlee had not learned with all the courses he has attended, how to manage his Human Resources adequately. 5 officers in one office writing one letter then the whole weekend off while officers in the out stations working 56 hours per week. 80 percent of the force finish work at 4 and go home at night. Plus those who work in the day cant be found. There need to be a proper crime plan and a proper head to manage it!
Really a messy situation at this point but someone is soon goin to kill one of them watch did work because they have no care at all these series of robberies are becoming to often and usually thief steal at night these criminals are on a rampage broad day light
@Concern citizen…thieves have never stolen at night time only. Thieves steal 24/7/365.
The final act is a part of the overall plan of the thieves.
What is happening in Antigua, thieves are taking advantage of “opportunities” which LAW ENFORCEMENT have to reduce.
It’s obvious, that the STREET THUGS have become as ORGANIZED, as those in the WHITE COLLAR CRIMINAL ORGANIZATIONS.
Whether, you or anyone believe or not, there is a direct correlation between those WHITE COLLAR well ORGANIZED CRIMINAL ENTERPRISES(those responsible for the influx and increase in guns, the movement of drugs in and out of the Country, the FENCES who buy and trade the stolen goods).
These robberies on the street are simply extra curricular activities, and may even be INITIATIONS for the now well ORGANIZED STREET THUGS.

Serious times in which we live. The heart of man is waxed cold with EVIL.
Those who are involved in these criminal acts may evade law enforcement, but MAKE IT BE CRYSTAL CLEAR: THE CREATOR IS NOT ALSEEP and these people who think they have escaped with the loot will SURELY answer one day…sooner than they think.
Evil may flourish for a moment but your end result will be worse.
Wake up, people: These are dangerous times.
The end is near and judgment will stand.
The way how they exited the vehicle like they’re in the military and was on a top secret mission.Well Lord please to guide and protect us from these evil and gun toting criminal elements.
This is so easily done. The criminals here are getting braver and braver, then casually blends back in society waiting to go again. Most places you tried this and end up in a chase and shoot out because police are visibly driving up and down patrolling the whole island, here you can drive from town to Sweets and not one police vehicle on the streets. Police in Wadadli sits at the station like Firemen waiting for a call and expect to find criminals waiting for them at the crime scene.
I remembered writing this some years back and it’s like criminals here are corresponding with their friends in other countries and inviting to find away – anyway to get to Antigua, a true paradise, but the easiest place to carry out crimes any time any place and get away clean. As (My Way)often stated the banks will be next, might not succeed but this will be huge.
@Carvaa
I am in agreement. I wish these folks start to listen to those who spent over 20 years studying the minds and behavior of criminals, and their society. There is no one who understand the criminal in and society of Antigua than I do.
I also knows that none of the authorities will be willing to listen to me, as it will prove I am correct and they will also assume my success means they are failures and do no deserve their position.
I guarantee this is what they are thinking but will never let you know this. I say, put aside yourself and care about the people of Antigua and Barbuda. sacrifice your ego for the pragmatic and calculated crime prevention tactic.
“They are put in a position where they feel like they need to shoplift some bread or go hungry that night”.

Stop blaming Police bout traffic ticket vs criminals… that’s a dumb comparison. Can Police be everywhere??? Do u get a driving ticket every illegal place u park???
We all need to work together. Criticism nar go nowhere.
Police should be everywhere patrolling the neighbourhoods, instead of sitting behind desks in the stations.
The sad part is, these crimes are preventable. These opportunities to commit these kind of crimes can be eliminated.
Why are the police not listening to the expert? Why can’t they comprehend the strategy has already been design and effective in crime reduction.
Why are those in authority so uncaring? Why the public unable to see this?
All these crimes has already been predicted and mapped and submitted to numerous people of authority that includes the AG, COP and Deputy commissioners.
Why is no one listening? Why can’t someone stand up for the people and listen.
It is called opportunity reduction with crime prediction and crime mapping.
Something deadly is brewing for banks in Antigua and Barbuda. According to my research, the best environment and opportunity for a deadly bank burglary and robbery in Antigua and Barbuda has been ATTAINED.
A deadly bank robbery seems to be imminent in Antigua and Barbuda.
I am pretty sure I provided sufficient evidence on this platform of my prediction research being highly accurate.
My plan is available that is meant to decrease opportunities for criminals to commit vicious crimes. My tactics are meant to confuse criminals, making it difficult for them to plan these VICIOUS and INHERENTLY dangerous crimes.
Believe it or not, every one of these crimes was planned because of the available opportunities to commit the vicious crimes. Planning does not require days or weeks or months. Planning can be done in a few seconds.
They knew “of” this old man, his living situation, and the perfect opportunities his community provides to commit crimes against him and others. There was no deterrence and there are opportunities.
Typically, a crime like this (burglary and robbery of an old man) would be committed by only 1 person, as the principal, the guy at the scene, as it is easier to conceal and not bring attention to one criminal at the scene, especially in a relatively easy nighttime burglary of an old man, who they believe resides alone.
The other criminals in this type of situation would be sitting outside in the getaway car or at the meet-up point, waiting for the principal to arrive (usually).
But as criminals becomes bolder, where the authorities are having no impact on deterrence, prevention, and opportunity-reduction more than one perpetrator are unnecessarily at the scenes of criminal acts, as there are no substantial or reasonable fear of being seen or caught or detected.
This is in this situation a sign of poor judgment on the part of the criminals because they are so confident of not being caught, ever.
This is a clear sign of the boldness, inhumanity, etcetera of criminals who will soon, if not already, be ready to take on bigger criminal activities because “they see” no deterrence, and they see no opportunities to commit crimes being taken away from them. They are operating as if they are working with the authorities or in my belief, they are not being impacted by any current crime fighting plans.
It is why using my pragmatic tools developed to intercept and obstruct criminals and terrorism is urgently needed.
The burglary and robbery of some major business entities are imminent, which my research is showing will be targeted, if not already.
My research is showing the banks at woods shopping areas, bank at the tourist area (I think it is called Nelson dockyard or some shipping port), and credit unions located where they are, are at the highest risk of such criminal activities, armed burglary and robbery, with a high likelihood of severe injuries or death of civilians and authorities during these predicted crimes.
I am once again calling for proper policing, community and business cooperation using MY crime fighting recommendations. I beseech you.
All these bloggers are witnesses to me providing the solution, not only on this platform, but directly to the PM, AG, Police Commissioner and his deputies, and even lower-level staff for all listed here.
also, crimes are being committed not only by local residents but folks who are leaving the country on next day or matter of days to their home country but the crimes was planned with them by a local (local as in the sense that that person now resides in Antigua and Barbuda and knows the situation there while the other doesn’t). This is the criminals’ banking on the fact that locals will not be able to identify them easily, in the unlikely chance they are detected.
After every vicious crime, all flights out of Antigua and Barbuda should be checked for any person who may fit the description. Which means fast investigation to get a description.
I hope that in this informal setting, those idiots who focus on perfectly written English and the surface of things can now focus on this substance.
I cannot stop idiots from being idiots, but I will help those who truly want and will accept professional and pragmatic help.

It’s good to know no one was hurt .
You notice how those ” lazy no-good for nothing ” operate! They comes in , should I say group? So you would have to think twice even if you have the bravery to resist.
My story! In the nineties my house was a target , one instant Saturday ,Wednesday . My area was his spot my place was night or day . No one knew who it was until he was caught bringing items from someone’s house. That’s when we knew who it was. He left Antigua before he was apprehended . Next thing I heard he was kill in St Martin , maybe doing the same thing . All I could think is what he got away with in Antigua he met his match in St Martin . ” karma “🤔
“Moon run till day catch um “
@My way of helping. They aren’t listening because some of the crimes will lead right back to them. These people in high places are so deep into committing fraud, etc. they are afraid anyone with half a brain will catch them. So they do nothing to hold on to their ill gotten wealth. Like Stanford, it will catch up to them. The minute one of them gets caught they will all start blaming the other. Their house of cards will come toppling down. I have to believe that there is at least one powerful person in Antigua who has integrity & honor and is filthy rich enough to take these criminals down. Who ever you are the time is now. Us poor people who serve the wealthy day and night are tired and don’t stand a chance fighting this battle. HELP ANTIGUA SURVIVE IF YOU LOVE THIS PARADISE.
That van should be found easily. How many of those vans in that color are in Antigua? All the Police has to do .Go to their licensing registers with Transport Board and search for the ownerships of such vans. Then go around the Island to those registered owners.Any of those Noah Vans that meets the description on the video.Tow it to heck away and bring the owner in for questioning. If need be water board his/her arse for answers. This is not a joke matter. Here is where the BULL SHIT STOPS.
Antigua police are lazy … unprofessional.. good for nothing and useless … the only thing they are good for is to harass you if they don’t like how you speak to them … they have big egos and they are lazy .. they do not go out and patrol .. I have never NEVER SEEN police walking through different villages … NEVER seen no police walking around no village at night ..: they all park up at they woman house ..
I totally agree with you. This is class 101 of police training. But is the police force held accountable to do their job?
@A sad state and Lenny H, you both are correct and sadly no one will do anything about it by voting better. I already expressed the solution to the current administration and they ignore me and my calls. It is time locals vote to put in those that will listen. As I have tried enough to know none of the locals in authority listens. They love not listening and always wrong. From police officers to the politicians.
The money will be finished in no time and they will have to rob again.. Increasing the possibility of being caught or killed….
Aru better find them nuh trust me find them. Smaddy go dead. Find them bredda. A sleep this whole Country and police force a sleep Pon this f*****g robbery thing that Tek place almost every day a left people traumatized. People wake up. Look out. Do wha y’all haffi do it could be you next. Aru tap sleep jack. When Aru ketch them damage them. Please.
Where are the statements from the commissioner of Police, the Prime Minister, the Attorney General on what they intend to do about the situation of people being terrorized and robbed at gun point in Antigua? Antigua is a small place and people know these criminals. I am beginning to believe that we don’t have a real police force in Antigua. Why aren’t police officers patrolling the neighbourhoods in Antigua so when a call is received, there are officers in the vicinity to answer. How many roads lead in and out of Bethesda?
Not only do the police have to find these criminals, but they must also find the ones providing them with the guns.
@ Saying, many of us are just as confused, and just cannot comprehend why there aren’t any forthcoming statements from Attlee Rodney; Gaston Browne and Steadroy Benjamin.
Reassurances from any of the above three would not only be assuring of some sort of safety measures being put into place, but may also halt the whispers on the street about vigilantes taking place to protect our own kith and kin.
I am at a total loss as to why these guys won’t do what their paid to do – it is within their pay-scale … isn’t it?
I doubt there are many individuals involved in these criminal activities. My take is that there are a few individuals involved and when the money runs out, they strike again.
Now look at the robberies in Willoughby Bay. Won’t be surprised if they are people who work in the area. You tell me the last two had to steal the vehicle to get away? How did they get in there in the first place. Check the villages nearby you police officers.
Just matter of time before they realise banks are where the money is. They have no fear of getting caught because the police is useless. At this moment I staying away from all banks. ATM transactions only.
ATM machines are the worst especially at night.
