ANR took a trip through the city of St. John’s and round south to assess any early morning damage to the island in the midst of Hurricane Maria.
Forecasters had predicted a similar impact compared with Irma a week and a half ago.
South of the island in Jennings towards Johnson’s Point had considerably stronger winds and more rainfall than that experienced in the city. Forecasters had indicated that Antigua was still in line to receive as high as 80 mph winds during the course of the morning.
