  1. Good work DCA, now ramp it up. Antiguans always complaining about lack of standards yet in their own actions want to act like this is the wild wild west.

    • Before you actually wrote this think you should had did some research..

They were given permission by the same DCA the documents are there to show..

Why give them permission to then break down there stuff.. smh 🤦🏽

If your willing to give your name I can tag you to the dca approved document sir/madam

      • You na hear the boy say they were told to move by March and the (new) rep was going to help them move? Now that sound to you like they had permission to built that structuire there?

        • Is it March yet??? Some of you so fucking retarded and bad mind!!! Jah nah sleep He will make a better way for them !! You demons will not win in this country!!! I’m sick and fucking tired of all of you that turn a blind eye on the wickedness that’s taking place in the country by our government and condoning it!!!

  2. @ goodwork the same way they can take food out of these young man mouth, is the same young men who trying to make a decent living, will meet you and eat your food! Dumb ass!!

  3. Fuckery this!!! Straight talk. Do you know how much buildings in this country are illegally sitting on/in certain places that are not approved by DCA? And they don’t trouble them. I condemn this action by DCA. Yall dissin young ppl like this wtf DCA? Wtf yo

    • Omg this is so brutal,at lease you all could have given them some time to remove it instead of mashing up the whoLe entire thing, this is heartless.Yes rules are put in place yes an must be enforce but omg Mon smh, time hard ppl trying make little money best Dem try do some little work instead go out an rob ppl kmt mon

    • @SMH
Or will they demand that their minion move that stinking eyesore that is permanent at the corner of Redcliffe and Cross streets? Does he have special permission to keep that filthy excuse for a street corner food spot because he is the red color? Everybody else must knock theirs down when they finish for the day, but not him?

  4. What I would like to know is were these young men warned legally that this demolition would occur, were they given some time to correct the situation. If all there papers were in order this is a terrible miscarriage by the DCA.

  5. So, if this is the new style DCA for 2022, we all look forward to seeing similar actions in the coming week to more ‘solid’ structures that were possibly ‘quietly added’ to existing bigger money, establishments or homes.

  6. The greedy rich keep stealing from the people, enriching themselves while keeping the hard-working Antiguans down. Something truly has to be done. I’ve never been more disappointed in my homeland as I am these days. Give our youth a chance.

  7. This is extremely unfortunate and saddens me as we are all Antiguans. It sounds like these guys were trying their best to get the documents together and try to work with DCA when they were informed of any infraction.

There should be a law that once the citizen has taken action to rectify whatever infraction they were notified of, then there should be a hold on any demolition.
If you they notify the young men that there was an infraction and the young men got in contact with DCA and are actively working with DCA to resolve the issue, then they should be a hold for at least 30 days until some action is taken.. smh

    This really saddens me.

The country is hard.. these poor young men tried their best to make a living when they don’t have many options in life.

I hope that they don’t lose hope.

Also, as far as I know each village has a representative. They need to earn their checks.

Young men please don’t give up!

I can hear the sadness and distress in their voice… it’s so sad

DCA also how can you destroy personal property… smh

So sorry guys… the Prime minister doesn’t care about the plight of the people because he done say him, his wife and his son are rich and how Antiguans are jealous of his wealth so he doesn’t care about the poor.

People need to wise up when election comes and don’t sell their votes for computers and cash..
    Good luck to all involved

    • Oh please 🙄 you a chat 💩
Why don’t you help them if you care so much. Running your mouth like a standpipe and won’t lift a finger or give a penny to help

      • @ smh .. what is all that for? The lady as like everyone here is just expressing her opinion and she’s right… if the going people were actively trying to rectify the problem then DCA should not have taken action, esp cially before the time. So why are you so negative ????

  8. DCA may need to close down, if they dont go forward and breakdown all the other illegal buildings around Antigua, especially the monstrosity near Perry Bay, they should be considered as a failed organization and be shut down. I hope the young men realize that their forefathers tax dollars attempted killed their dream.

  9. What about all the other people that squatting.all you even notice the shanty all over tbe country from forein people. Only antiguan people thwm attack

  10. Heavy Sufferer. Babylon rather be we jailer.
Chineiman dem to put ina de area.
Heavy Sufferer. Ghetto youth don’t be no failure.
Easy land, economic zones for de montzungu
40 year concession and tax break for the snake and none for Jumby pickney dem.
a nation of laws? then where is the laws to help the people?
What if: we create a program so people can open business VERY EASY with flat rate for SS and license to operate. We should not be stopping them but assisting them, guiding them away for what maybe illegal activity to more positive things.. They need guidance not policing.

  11. I don’t support things like this, they are trying to make 2 ends meet,it does not care who you are .rough times a head. People are going through rough times .come to America and you all will see.shelves are empty.and people don’t give away thing only Island give away.i pray the the government will look in to the situation.let us live together as one we are going to need each other believe me.

  12. DCA please go to Jolly Harbour where the rich are adding to restaurants, houses without DCA approval. Building are re constructed without DCA approval. In other areas the construction taking place is completed different to the renovation plans you approved. So demolition or not ? Hey it’s okay because it’s the rich .

  13. All I’m saying when electing ministers, make sure that there is no jr.or children with the same name, this should disqualify them

  14. Everyone has to understand, unity is power, and as long Antiguan keeps accepting less and hoping for more the politicians will give nothing. Blame has to rest on the voters and not the DCA. When you vote someone in because of a false promise you end up in this condition. I feel these guys’ pain but remember unity is in strength when you start using your God-given strength and vote people out of office changes will come. Remember, this is the same prime minister that’s stated no one enters into the office to be poor, but now he’s making excuses for the DCA, maybe they should build on the Chinese land, or take over the businesses that were established by non-Antiguan. Wake up Antiguan, the prime minister, and his cabinet care less for you guys.

  15. Is it March yet??? Some of you so fucking retarded and bad mind!!! Jah nah sleep He will make a better way for them !! You demons will not win in this country!!! I’m sick and fucking tired of all of you that turn a blind eye on the wickedness that’s taking place in the country by our government and condoning it!!!

  16. DCA serves a purpose I suppose, however, they should be applying the rules or enforcing them across the board. You can barely walk on some of the streets in the city (e.g Market Street) where you are forced to walk in the streets, at the risk of being struck by motorists). These make-do booths are eye sores and should be destroyed.

  17. All over the caribbean is the same shit. Your own people bring you down wen they are to try and bring you up. Theses young men ate tryin 2 make a living for themselves in stead all off you people crushing them down 2 pieces. JUST look at the disgusting comments im ashamed of these people who made these ridiculous comments. NEED it was once of u all children that would have been a TOTALLY different approach to this situation. So what u all tryin to tell me is best they stay without havin someting that is legal, but in stead be on the streets n do it illegally, My God this is hurtful of this country and its people. Im ashamed. God you are really coming.

  19. All i can say is those young men were selling Ital maybe about last year so why break down the structure they built to try make their establishment look presentable. They started from scratch with little to nothing and now they gain momentum and moving upward you tear them down smh. Black people always willing to tear each other down easily when one trying to make better for themselves. These guys could be out there robbing and stealing but they try to do right and you all call them squatters. The real squatters in this country who are non-nationals get opportunity to buy land for $1 but your own national young people you tear down and defile their identity and character. Yes there are two sides to a story but it is obvious they didn’t have a negative impact last year but now they are a threat smh. It could have been handled better smh.

  20. If those young men from Parham Town,Antigua were from China and or the Dominican Republic. Would they meet with the same consequences? I would think not,for those people stand up for their own. While we born Antiguans do not stand up for any damn thing. Unless there is something in it for us personally. That mind set needs to change. This is not about the stupid divisive politics in the Nation. This has to do with fair play for all. One set of rules for all, regardless of your titles in the society. While those in higher places could get away with many underground things. It does not apply to the little man/woman. Double standard is the norm.
