  1. End of year holidays mean a lot of things. Santa, carols, parties, cards and gifts. They also mean more robberies. The number of holdups always rise at this time of the year as crooks, some of them spurned by the season consumerism, turns to robbery in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Businesses cannot afford to let their guards down and must do everything in their power to beef up their security. Gas stations, supermarkets and shops, stores and even home owners will be targeted. Vehicle owners must be guarded and mindful to of the increase in vehicle registration plates theft at this time as thieves will steal plates and affix them to their getaway vehicle in order to elude the police.

  2. @Audley true xmas and Carnival, Robberies go up. This is something the police also know and should ramp up on patrols, but hey we talking about Antigua Royal Police force, where majority of them are lazy and work with the crooks. The police know crime goes up around this time but they do nothing until one week into Christmas. That gas station always get rob and in the day time there are no police patrolling Glanvilles. A couple of months ago in Glanvilles they rob a woman’s house in broad day light. Pulled up to the back and cleared out her whole house. The experience traumatized her little child and the youth didn’t want to sleep in the house. smh Antigua Police are a waste true waste. I know the force have some good officers but majority of them are a waste of salary. They know how to harass innocent people and bad up sick taxi drivers and law abiding citizens, but fraid the bad man.
