    • And how much collateral damage should we be willing to accept?
Looks like the 3 women literally ran into one of the robbers, if someone was shooting at the robbers odds on it would be a dead customer

  1. I guess my research that shows there will be a horrific increase in armed robbery and Burglary in Antigua will continue to be ignored. Where banks and other major businesses will and have now become targets.

  2. These brazen robberies have got to stop. We need police outposts with armed personnel all around the country and especially in dense business areas, with rapid response to all these robberies. Also set up a network of surveillance cameras all over Saint Johns with 24/7 monitoring. It’s time we rid the country of this scourge.

    • Where u getting police from when dem have dem 2nd an 3rd jobs to attend. Chupz

    • Don’t care what people say, but the police need to do profiling, when you see these guys dressed in the working uniform namely the hoodie clothing, stop them and ask them to remove the hoodie from their heads and take photo of them that can be used, yes the pice need to be on foot patrol and photograph them.

  3. I think Antigua needs more accessible and visible social services in communities. There should be food banks, employment agencies, tutoring services, and active community centres with youth activities in every community. The Ministry of Social Transformation or Charity Groups or Churches or Concerned Neighbours need to step up and try something new and aggressive to redirect such youth towards better alternatives. Yes, such services already exist, but some persons are not going to go out of their way to look for them. If they were right there in the communities perhaps some young men would more likely make use of these better alternatives rather than turning to a life of crime.

  4. The lack of love and respect that adults in Antigua currently display towards one another also sets a bad example for the young people. Adults are constantly bad-talking, undermining, trying to tear down, dismissing, trying to manipulate, defrauding, and demeaning one another all the time for no good reason instead of supporting, collaborating, and respecting one another. So, perhaps some young people can’t foresee much of a future trying to get ahead in such a hostile environment. So, they’re just bypassing the entire corrupt system and have no sympathy for anyone. However, I do wish they would reconsider the violence and theft since that behaviour will just lead to the collapse of the entire society sooner rather than later. They should instead get together with their friends and try to improve society. Try to create better systems than what we have right now instead of making things even worse. It’s never too late to ask God for forgiveness and turn over a new leaf. Change for the better is always possible.

It’s very sad and disheartening to see and hear about the crime in Antigua
The prime Minister need to be on TV and radio to Address this disgusting patern of behavior in our little Tourist Paradise
You cannot just stay silent and turn a blind eye and hoping this crime wave is going to fade
These hoodlums are getting more brazen and aggressive daily
Robbing tourist on the beach Sticking up buisness during the day robbing restaurants full of customers robbing Barber shop
    Robbing stores supermarket
All these buisness owners need to get a gun permit to protect you and your employees because the police are not qualified or they are colluding with the Bandits
We cannot allow Antigua to become like some of the other lawless Island
You know which ones am talking about..
If the police can’t protect and serve as they should citenzen will have to turn to Vigilantism to protect your family and your livelihood
This is your time to demonstrate and picket the police station and the Attorney General office
Antigua wake up b4 it’s too late

Antigua has now passed the point of no return. The rot started many years ago when all and sundry were allowed into the country without proper checks and balances, all for the purpose of gaing votes and retaining power. This short-sighted policy continues to this day when recently amnesty was announced for illegal immigrants before the last election and has come to bite us where it hurts most. The Attorney General and the Prime Minister both know it and are as silent as can be without a word being addressed to the nation on this malaise. Let me be clear; Antiguans are no angels where lawbreaking is concerned but something deep inside me says these acts of criminality are overwhelmingly the acts of non Antiguan characters who have either been born here of parents from the other islands you alluded to, or who have been allowed into the country with a nod. Whoever is offended by my feelings can feel offended if they wish but my gut feeling is these criminals carry the genes of criminality from the lawless places they originated. I keep saying, Antigua is doomed and sadly there is no turning back.
