This September, recognised globally as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, 11-year-old Kishon John from Antigua is sharing his story of resilience.
Kishon was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system, and has undergone months of treatment. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, he has spoken openly about his experiences, highlighting the struggles faced by children with cancer.
Health advocates say support from family and community is vital for young patients. Kishon’s courage serves as a symbol of hope for others battling the disease, as Antigua and Barbuda join the global observance.
