11. It was just a matter of time before the bullets started flying. As you know, I have been quite critical of the police force leadership but much respect to the guys in the field who dealt with these criminals. It looks like the SSU guys finally zeroed in on those responsible for some of the recent robberies.

    Let this be a lesson to any other armed criminals out there. If you want to continue robbing supermarkets and citizens, eventually, it will end with a long stay at 1735 or a one-way trip to Barnes or Straffie’s.

16. I am personally thanking the law enforcement officers, for the commendable act of neutralizing the threat to personal safety and, the protection of our society. These viscous scumbags terrorizing the citizenry must have no place of refuge or solace to function amongst us, and cannot be tolerated. I further make known; that there demographics–to include, but not limited to emigration status, be made public, and a data base of statistics be compounded such as to saturate their base of operational activities. It is also incumbent on law enforcement to utilize the benefits of community policing, by having the visibility of boots on the ground in every community–utilizing foot patrol, bicycles and gulf cart to alleviate the scarcity of motor patrol from the precinct’s command. Again: Thanks.

18. @ Low hanging fruit. Do you not understand how porous our borders are? Our space is an indented twin Island State with over 365 beaches– and with so many boats entering our harbors– even authorized ports of entries: anchoring, and hoisting a Q–flag, and coming ashore with back packs before clearing Immigration & Custom without a car or concern: how is it possible intercept and interdict the culprits that is engaged in the gun and narcotics smuggling traders? We need to revert to the harbor masters boarding days, and have lookout station post on strategic elevations or, rada tracking of any, and all vessels approaching our coastlines–plus inception of robust Coastguard patrolling; and spot check of local fishing vessels: which do act as transfer couriers from vessels out at sea; if we are to be seriously concern with illegal traffickers. Please note that the dynamics of our society have changed, such as to rob us of our innocence; and insulated cocoon way of living; while in a globalize saturation of drugs and guns — of which we are not immune. Please be cognizant of the facts of today’s reality. And, by the way: why not the powers that be implement a gun buy back, or amnesty? I ponder.
