An investigation has been launched into a matter in which a teenager was allegedly a part of a group of men who attempted to gain entry into a Dry Hill residence.

Reports are that the resident of the home, a 32-year-old man, visited the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and reported that between 9 p.m. on February 27 and 1 a.m. the following day his home alarm went off and when he checked his cameras he saw three young men at the front of his property.

Further reports are that one of the men was dressed in a black long sleeve shirt, short black and white pants with a red knapsack on his back, while another was dressed in a grey hooded shirt and grey joggers and the third young man he did not see properly.

Reportedly the police were called to the scene, but by the time they arrived the young men had left the property.

Subsequently, however, a female police constable along with another officer took a 19-year-old Han Street, Villa youth to the CID office in connection with the report.

The Dry Hill man was instructed by CID officers to go to the Minor Offence Office, which is expected to take over the investigations into the incident.

The teenager was released in the care of his mother and was told to report to the Minor Offence Office.

  2. There must have been an identity match but the news did not have all details. No one picks up any youth just like that.
