Victory in Europe Day…..Germany was defeated, Hitler killed himself and America dropped two nuclear bombs on Japan ending WWII…A percentage of men from the Caribbean Islands were a part of that fight against Hitler’s plans to rule the world and rid it of anyone who is not considered Aryan or white without Jewish blood…It was a war against racism but yet the racist American soldiers had to be separated because they would not fight along side negroes so there were signs all over Europe that said “White Soldiers Only”….The truth is black soldiers from the Caribbean were a part of the fight and we thank them for their bravery and courage despite all the bigotry…If Hitler and the Japanese won the war we Caribbean people would of been exterminated…
A solemn reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. Thank you to all who served.
May we never forget the price paid for peace. Lest we forget.
A touching ceremony. Gratitude to the ABDF for keeping the memory alive.
Honoring the past to inspire the future. Well done, ABDF.
A heartfelt ceremony that reminds us of the value of freedom and the cost at which it comes.
