Dear Editor,
I recently read the story about being scammed by a young lady who throws boxes. I am also a part of this box, and it is disheartening to see the turn this situation has taken concerning my financial well-being.

Despite numerous warnings from others about such boxes, I still decided to join. I won’t stay silent like the person who shared their experience before me. I joined a box with P. Enterprise on November 6th, 2023.
Regrettably, I signed contracts without meeting the box owner in person, as she had employees. Reflecting on it now, that was my mistake, as I blindly trusted someone with my money without proper verification. I was investing $200 weekly with two hands.
I never met the box holder until money started going “missing,” as I would drop off my weekly contribution, and her employees would handle the transactions.
The box holder’s version of events was that she was targeted and robbed. However, I witnessed disgruntled customers interacting with her employees, who were clearly doing their best.
One incident left a girl close to tears after dealing with someone fed up with the box holder’s actions.
My entire interaction with the box was through her employees, which, in hindsight, seems suspicious since she was often absent, especially during confrontations at her store.
Like others, I have not received any funds from this scam.
The box holder suggested we could drop out after the theft but continue contributing, with altered dates and funds transferred to her personal account.
I refused, questioning why I should transfer money to her personal account. I chose to leave the box but was told refunds would only be possible after the box’s completion, leaving me devastated, and apparently, I’m not alone.
Throughout this ordeal, the box holder claims to have been robbed of box and personal funds, yet her store continues operating, seemingly thriving post-robberies.
I urge everyone not to join such boxes. Learn from my mistake.
Sincerely, Scamher

Not to make light of anyone’s misfortune, if you are disciplined enough to make weekly or monthly payments to a person or persons whether known or unknown to you trusting them without any written contract then why can’t you be just as disciplined to make those deposits to your own bank account? There you have total control. There are credit unions who also facilitate such accounts. The added incentive here is that you can also expect to receive a small percentage in interest.
There was a time when ‘throwing a box hand’ was honest and persons could depend on them. Sadly today, there are less and less of scrupulous persons within these endeavours.
Please people, be smarter with your money choices.
This is true. Indeed. (I guess having access to your funds at a bank makes it easy to withdraw).
U right with that cause with me the person that take my money that they dead no body can fuck with me like that
Proverbs 13:11 NLT
[11] Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.
We would do well, as a people, if the Word of God was our guide.

Commonsense, commonsense, commonsense. What has become of it, where is it gone? Seems like some people are allergic to it. ” A fool is soon parted from his money”.
” Who won’ t hear will feel”. Are any of these sayings true?
You should put more information on her since you are warning us and we can be aware of said person(s).
They called the business name, what more do you want? Simply go and figure out who owns the business.
Illegal Jamaicans and Haitians are largely responsible for the illegality in Antigua.
Why are we so afraid to call names in a situation like this…. if the incidentis true? What is P enterprise if you are warning others.?
The Courts now adjudicate these box holders scamming people….I know one lady who even served prison time etc.
Call names….call them out.
Call dem name…set of thieves
If u can give a stranger your $200 every week then u can do the same thing with a bank
Run your own Box, get a shoe box and stock your money there : either daily or weekly. Most people need to trade their ‘SMART PHONES’ for ‘DUMB PHONES’…with a requested refund. 😥
Box can be beneficial, short boxes with small trustworthy groups, the moment I am joing a box for a year it’s best I join the credit union box
Even the banks can’t be trusted, lol, so what’s y’all point about banks?
Isn’t there a said bank here in Antigua currently caught up in millions of dollars worth of missing monies?
When it comes to money, anyone can get rip off by anyone or business, stranger or not. The same way this box person came with recommendations,so did the banks or anyone you do business with for that matter.
The bottom line is this, stop stealing from people..stop being a crook.and that goes for our current government as well, with whom we have in-trusted our money to.
So go figure!
