Veteran Pannist Victor “Babu” Samuel dies

Celebrated Antiguan pannist Victor “Babu” Samuel has died.

His family said in a statement that he passed at 4:20pm today.

Samuel was 64 and had been ill for some time.

The Office of the Prime Minister said: We express our deepest condolences to the family of renowned pannist Victor “Babu” Samuel who passed away today.

To the Carnival brotherhood, to all Pannists of every pan fraternity. Babu was an icon. A hero. He will be missed. May his soul rest in peace.
