The University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus (UWIFIC) is entering a critical phase of its expansion with the construction of dormitories for international students.

Principal Professor C. Justin Robinson outlined the project, emphasizing its importance to the campus’s master plan and business model, which aims to attract students from across the Caribbean and beyond.

The dormitories will be built on the site of the current Five Islands Primary School, with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new primary school scheduled to precede construction.

Alongside the dormitories, the campus is upgrading lab facilities, enhancing administrative capabilities, and implementing a university-wide enterprise management system to support its rapid growth and expanded programs.

Professor Robinson highlighted three key components of the expansion: the new primary school, the dormitories, and the enterprise management system, all designed to enhance the campus’s capacity and functionality.

  1. WONDERFUL NEWS 🎊 🙌🏾 🇦🇬

    Good job LABOUR PARTY 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

  2. If UWI is permitted to build and operate Halls of Residence for students, will this prompt similar actions by all the other Universities in Antigua?
    Halls are profitable enterprises.
If this is the new status, what happens to the many many local people who have invested in building student accommodations and are servicing their loans?
No renters= defaulting & economic misery.
