For the last seven years, students from Lehigh University in the US have journeyed to Antigua & Barbuda on a voluntary mission.

As is the custom, this year, six students joined their lecturer for the week-long trip which saw them working on two projects.

But they could not depart before doing this one last thing.

After paying their own way from various parts of the United States, the group completed a mural at the New Winthropes Primary School and repainted the hallway and classroom at the Buckley’s Primary School.

They also continued a tradition which was their last stop before heading back to the airport.

They stopped to buy food at Harriette’s Kitchen located near Camp Blizzard. Harriette explains that a different group comes each year and their mission is never completed before stopping at her kitchen.

Over the weekend, the Lehigh University group enjoyed Harriette’s famous BBQ Chicken and Ribs before posing for a photo with her.

Harriette told Antigua News Room that the students are not only good for business but good for the community.
