US Coast Guard Rescues 33 Haitian Migrants

On Monday, the United States Coast Guard’s Cutter Dependable rescued 33 Haitian migrants whose vessel was taking on water about six miles north of Cap-Haitien, Haiti. The Coast Guard District Seven watchstanders were alerted by the Dependable’s crew. The rescued individuals were brought aboard the Dependable and handed over to Haitian authorities in good health on Tuesday.

In another mission on Tuesday, the US Coast Guard collaborated with Puerto Rico Police air and surface crews to rescue three individuals from a capsized vessel near Desecheo Island, Puerto Rico. The boaters, who were wearing life jackets, were successfully rescued.
