An Antiguan entrepreneur who operates in the USA has expressed an interest in pursuing medical Cannabis when made legal in Antigua and Barbuda.

The government did not name the potential investor but said he was an Antigua and Barbuda citizen.

He was accompanied by five experts including a lawyer, a marketing specialist, two Information Technology Specialists, and the owner of a Laboratory who tests medical cannabis pharmaceuticals for a variety of substances.

The lawyer reportedly provided draft legislation and explained the many benefits that will accrue to Antigua and Barbuda, if their firm were allowed the opportunity to lead the process.

The IT specialist indicated the methods which would be used to secure payments, including crypto currencies and blockchain technology. The operator of the laboratory promised that the lab could also be used to test all kinds of substances and would not be limited to testing for cannabis strengths and quality.

“The Cabinet indicated to the visiting group that others have come forward to propose the acceptance of their firms; the Cabinet enquired of collaboration and was told that this group would be willing to collaborate.”

  1. Good to know that he is from Antigua and Barbuda. We ought to support our own too. Look forward to more details soon.

  2. Why can’t we welcome to our native sons and daughters who want to come home to open a medical practice?
