Urgent Plea to Prime Minister and Minister: Overhauling the Broken Family Court System for Justice
Dear Mr. Prime Minister and Minister,
I urgently need your help in fixing what is supposed to be our family court. I have several concerns, which I am sure many men out here share or are going through the same situation.
Many of us men are suffering in silence, and it seems that no one cares or is taking us seriously. As I write this letter, my heart aches, and my eyes are puffy with tears because for years, I have been experiencing serious injustice in this so-called family court.
Firstly, I strongly feel that the magistrate harbors a bias against men for some reason only God knows. She tends to be more on the women’s side and forgets that we men are humans too with feelings.
I believe it’s time to either have two magistrates, retrain the present one, or appoint another one because she doesn’t make sense in her judgments. She is too gullible to many tricks that these devious, malicious, evil baby mothers try, and she can’t see when they are playing her.
Secondly, she makes rules that if the baby mothers don’t grant access to the father, they either go to jail for 6 months to a year or pay a fine. However, this seems to be an order she puts there for show.
I have taken my baby mothers to court several times for access, and not once have they been punished.
This lack of consequences encourages them to repeat the offense and makes them feel untouchable, even taunting their baby fathers, as they know they will get away with it.
Thirdly, if a baby mother thinks she is the only parent and denies access, that mother should feed her child herself and stop punishing the father.
It doesn’t make sense for a father to provide for a child he doesn’t know is dead or alive because he can’t see them or have a say in their upbringing.
Fourthly, I think the judge is trying to emulate Madea’s Family Reunion but needs to understand that not every family can be fixed. Some families need to be broken apart and go their separate ways. I suggest she starts watching Judge Judy.
Fifthly, the law about continuing to financially support a child past 18 doesn’t make any sense, especially when these young adults are rude, disrespectful, working, having boyfriends, and some moms just put their kids into further education to continue extracting money from the fathers.
If baby mothers file a warrant, they quickly come for us. However, when we file for access, they don’t go after them, even when they make up stupid excuses and involve the kids in lying. It’s the magistrate’s job to see through the lies and give us men the justice that we deserve.

Guy at the core of the magistrate’s concern is the child, not you or the mom. Must tell you the included quote shows you as being selfish. It reminds of the part in the old testament (1 Kings 3:16–28) where the lady chose to have the baby cut in half
this comment doesn’t make any sense as in the Bible it talks about two mothers who were saying the baby is both of them own and in order to satisfy them the king ordered the baby to be cut in half and give half to each mother and they real mother told him to give the baby to fake mother in order for the baby life to be safe so read ur Bible again and what do u call a father that feeds his child and have no access guess he is selfish and the mother is a angel for depriving the bond between father and child we need to seriously think before we speak and make sure what we say actually makes sense and let’s all focus on helping father’s like these that’s going through this emotional distress
Why would you want your child’s mother to go to prison over access? That would be tough on the children. That law should be striken from the books. Instead if access is ordered by the Court and not given then the penalty should be to reduce the child support the man has to pay. Why would you not want to support your adult children in University? In this day and age people need to be trained in some specialization or the other. So, yes both parents should contribute for a few years if the child is studying. There should be some limit on the number of years after 18.
There is a limit….25 years old is the limit age to collecting support while pursuing tertiary education. If by that time you’re still in school then other means of support must be found. It doesn’t go on forever.
Why would you want your child’s father to go to prison over money….. the double standards are outrageous….
A father has the same rights as the mother.As long that father is supporting that child in all aspects of life.A mother on her own cannot deny a father’s access to his child.Let the Courts decide based on facts of the matter.Good luck to you father of the child.In my opinion,you should get a family Lawyer to direct you and take her to Court.
I don’t believe in mindless equality. I think sometimes social scientists, lawyers, law makers etc. need to have a conversation with natural scientists, biologists, child development psychologists etc. before they make unnatural laws that leave people fighting each other for no reason. What do studies show? How does nature actually work? What are the biological differences between males and females? What do young children actually need? There are lots of studies that answer these questions, but they are conveniently ignored on the altar of so-called “equality”. Naturally, mothers are the ones who give birth and have to physically feed the young with their actual bodies sometimes up to 3 years in some places where food is hard to find. After that, physiologically mothers are best suited for tending to the emotional and physical needs of small children for the next few years. Once the child is older, fathers become important for teaching the child the ways of the world, how to do dangerous things etc. Why fight nature? Why not create laws based on reality? Children should bond with their fathers (depending on the person) when young, but they should spend more time with their mothers at a young age.
“depending on the person” because let’s be honest men are more likely to engage in antisocial behaviour e.g. criminality than women. It is not always in the best interests of every child to spend a lot of time with their father at a young age before learning right from wrong so they can properly understand when they should or shouldn’t follow such a person.
Going to court makes no sense ….that’s a waste of money . Just continue to do a warrant on the mother sometimes it take time because they cater for the whole of Antigua….
Natural Law and Natural Rights vs Equal Rights? Why are there males and females? So that while one gender (female) spends more time taking care of the young, the other one (male) can spend more time ensuring they are protected and go out there (work) to get food and other needed supplies.
Women of course still have to work to take care of themselves and their children especially since something could happen to the man and the family would be left starving if everyone sat around depending on one person to provide. However, because of the natural needs of children, women will always be limited in the number of hours that they can work outside of the home without affecting the children. Men have more free time on their hands to work extra jobs, extra hours to make sure that the children have everything they need. So, the natural order dictates that men should always be prepared to provide for women and children in their families.

I also have a problem I’ve been doing warrants but nothing is being done and I am a female . The court system is slack , the officers at family are to laid back …..
The entire court system on a whole in Antigua needs professional attention from an external competent body/team.
I hate having to go there, as a matter of fact I feel like it’s a money making scheme since any question asked to the family court magistrate she replies by pointing you to an attorney. It is almost as if she knows not what the law states.
She finds herself somewhere she doesn’t want to be since her private practice didn’t do very well after leaving the legal department years ago.
She give precedence to those she aligns herself with whether friend, family, foe or professional colleagues. Total bias!
She is happy someone dies and crowned her magistrate. They need to send her to do criminal cases so she can urinate herself daily since she will be forced to be fair.

that is why we would never reach any where in this country because when men try to stand up for they rights they get fight down all am seeing is some bitter women picking on men under this post if we men are to keep ur zippers up why don’t u ladies keep ur panties up after it takes two to make a child and some just use a child to trap a man and some of these generations are so dam rude and disrespectful if we father’s can’t help to bring them up why not let the mothers who would clearly tell you ah fu dem pickney alone feed them they selves this article is a father crying out for help and look how bashing him instead trying to see how to help him only thing men go wrong with is the women they lay with and make child with don’t get me wrong they is some real good women out there and they are some that don’t make any form of sense
how ridiculous u don’t want a women to go to jail buy they must file warrant and send the father what u think that would do to the child we fail to see that this works both ways and why should a father be feeding a grown women that’s working and decides to go school let the father decide when and how he can help and stop making it mandatory he nah important too and have a life and thongs to do
I won’t say she is bias cuz I took my child father to court and he wasn’t paying n when I send out a warrant all she did was give him time to pay n den take it from his salary.
Secondly I understand exactly way u coming from. U have fathers out there who is trying real hard n because they have some bitter baby mothers dey tend to put the child in the middle. You have some man who have all the access dey want and still not showing no support. Paying child support doesn’t make you a father. What about coming for the child and spending time with the child. The mother need so free time too but some a dem just nar k. So all I can do is encourage you to continue and be the father you are
Well I na feel she against man cuz some do over do imagine because you not with the child father he decides he shouldn’t feed the child and up to when court ordered decides to leave the work cause he don’t want pay and saying how the mother not getting no money cause he na work no way!…..then when it’s time to have the children he decides he na come then want show up every 6 months then stop again for a year it affects the child some father’s get opportunity to get access and then refuse to show up… just keep trying you may be a good one.
Be careful who you go to bed with, for the legal system is hash corrupt unprofessioal and costly
I agree with the authour of this article.. just imagine during covid i lost my job… she working fir a considerabke amout of miney.. not that i do care ..and i was given a warrant for child support… wicked women… sbe say she cant afford to feed the kids but .. from what my kids told me she on shopping spree on amazon.. most weekends they at expensive restaurants like cloggys ect… you can afford to give a child a smoked salmon lunch.. but then in court u cry that u cannot feed them during the month..wow..
And a s a man you have no rights in the courts, anything u say is pushed aside.. once the woman initiate that court order ..ur already proven guilty
