United Progressive Party (UPP) Candidate for St. Mary’s South, Mr. Kelvin “Shugy” Simon has announced that on Saturday October 29th from 2pm – 7pm, the ‘Small Business Pull-Up’ will venture through the village of Bolans.
This special edition installment will be a continuation of last weekend’s mobile gathering that was aborted by police, following an altercation with a group of ABLP supporters.
Simon indicates that all small enterprises that were previously scheduled on the St. Mary’s South ‘Small Business Pull-Up’ will be included on this weekend’s route.
“We believe that despite last weekend’s mishap, small businesses in Bolans should not be left out. They deserve our support and we are committed to helping them generate more sales and exposure. We want to continue to highlight the important role that these small businesses play in the social and economic development of our community,” said Simon
Since late August, the UPP ‘Small Biz Pull-Up’ has provided ongoing support to small enterprises throughout various communities. Simon, an entrepreneur and well known community organizer, will lead this weekend’s caravan of patrons and UPP supporters.
Political Leader of the UPP, Harold Lovell feels that it is important for the Party to return to Bolans to complete its original mission of supporting small businesses and to share the UPP’s Small Business Agenda for Development and Growth, with patrons and owners of these establishments.
“We look forward to supporting the small businesses in Bolans, many of whom expressed their disappointment about last week’s incident. As we celebrate our 41st Anniversary of Independence, we hope that this will be a time for more unity in the community. We should focus more on providing support to small businesses, as many struggle in this difficult economy,” said Lovell.
